Had a pleasant experience eating at Bawarchi Biryani. The place is in a really nice neighborhood in Richardson. First of all the interior seems very clean and pleasant with servers who greet you with a smile. They come to serve you free water before you order. You can either order online with the QR code pasted on the table, or a waiter will come to take your order. What we ordered: 1. Chicken Tikka Masala: It was the best chicken tikka masala I had in the US. It was flavorful and not too spicy, and tasted absolutely delicious. 2. Hyderabad mutton biryani: It tasted really well but not a burst of flavor we typically look for in a biryani. It was probably made with a mindset for a wider audience who often do not like too much Indian spices. Overall I loved it. 3. Chicken biryani: It was also pretty good but nothing special compared to biryani in other Indian restaurants. 4. Vegetable Momo/ Dumplings: We did not like it at all and definitely something not in our flavor profile. I felt like the salad dressing on top did not add anything to the taste. 5. Irani chai: It tasted really good and not like a Masala tea. It has sugar included so let them know if you take a certain amount of sugar. Overall, I recommend the place as their service was really good and the food tasted amazing. The toilet is also pretty clean although the commode was broken and that was a bad experience for me.

This restaurant has a vast menu of all different types of Indian curries, appetizers, dosas, desserts, biriyani, and more. It's located near the border of Plano and Frisco, which is a nicer area compared to other Indian restaurants I've been to. The first thing that stood out to me is the AC!! Maybe I just have a couple of bad experiences but all the Indian restaurants I've been to do not turn on their AC at all. The menu is huge, a little too crowded for my liking. It was straight-up lines back to back. My friend recommended this place so we just let him do the ordering. We got 3 curries, 2 appetizers, biriyani, and stir fry noodles. Everything came one out one by one, but it was pretty yummy and tasty. I like the gobi manchurian and the egg curry the most. The flavors were solid, and they gave us so many eggs for the curry. The Szechwan noodles were soggy. It reminds me of a mixed version of pad Thai and lo mein-- I wasn't a fan. The chicken curry has a good kick of spice, and I like how tender the chicken pieces were. Each entree dish comes with rice or butter naan, but we upgraded to garlic naan instead. The total came out to be $91 before tips, which isn't bad. The portions were good and fed 4 people happily, along with a couple of containers of leftovers. When we asked for togo boxes, the server looked at our table and brought back 2 containers. I was so confused because we had 4 dishes left and two of those needed big boxes (noodles and biriyani). The service wasn't great after you get the food. We were out of water for a while and nobody checked on us. We had to get up and go up front to ask, and also order any extra dishes. When we paid, we wanted change for the tips but our server just took the extra $5 and even made a dirty look like it wasn't enough tips (it was 18%). The one thing that made this experience terrible was as we were leaving, the server stopped us asking for a quick review. I assumed it was like if you have time, please give us a review, etc. Nope. She STOOD there, staring at us until my boyfriend take out his phone and leaves a review. I was so confused about the situation. As much as I understand restaurants want feedback, this was not the way to go. You don't give bad service and then expect to get an instant review. She made us stand in the middle of traffic and drop a review. My boyfriend felt super uncomfortable, but it didn't look like she was going to let us leave if we didn't. I liked some of the food, but the service given by the female server changed my overall experience.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent dining experience at Bawarchi Indian Cuisine and feel compelled to leave a review. Despite the pleasant atmosphere the food definitely did not meet my expectations. To start the biryani I ordered was served cold. Biryani is meant to be a flavorful and piping hot dish but unfortunately this was not the case. The cold temperature completely ruined the experience and I was left with a dull and unappetizing meal. Next I decided to try the dosa. Much to my dismay it was undercooked. The dosa lacked the crispy texture and golden color that makes it so delicious. It seemed like it was rushed or not given enough time to cook properly. This lack of attention to detail in preparing such a popular dish was a major letdown. To add to my dissatisfaction the curry that accompanied the dosa was spoiled. The aroma alone was off-putting and upon tasting it I immediately knew it had gone bad. This kind of negligence is unacceptable especially from a big chain like Bawarchi Indian Cuisine. As a customer I had high hopes for a delightful Indian dining experience. Unfortunately Bawarchi failed to deliver on the essential aspects of good food preparation. The cold biryani undercooked dosa and spoiled curry were not up to par with what I would expect from a reputable restaurant. It is truly unfortunate that a well-known chain would overlook such crucial aspects of their food quality. I would have thought that as a respected establishment Bawarchi would prioritize the satisfaction of their customers by ensuring that their food is prepared with care and meets the expected standard. In light of my disappointing experience I regrettably have to leave a one-star review for Bawarchi Indian Cuisine. I hope that they take this feedback seriously and strive to improve their food quality and attention to detail in the future.

My friend and I recently had a very disappointing experience at Bawarchi Biryanis - Plano, Indian Cuisine on 24th May 2024. As committed vegetarians, we ordered the Appetizer – Vegetarian - Pudina Gobi, clearly listed as a vegetarian option on the menu. To our horror, we discovered pieces of non-vegetarian food mixed into our dishes. This is completely unacceptable and deeply upsetting on a personal and ethical level. When we brought this to the staff's attention, they confirmed it was a mistake and that there were indeed non-vegetarian pieces in our dishes. Despite this, we were unable to speak with the owner or a manager, and we were not provided with any contact information to further escalate our complaint. Additionally, our starter was served after our main course, further detracting from the dining experience. This incident has caused us significant distress and raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s handling of dietary restrictions. Such mishandling poses a risk to vegetarians and others with dietary restrictions, including those with allergies. We have also lodged a formal complaint with the restaurant via email, requesting a formal apology, an investigation into how this error occurred, improved staff training, reliable contact information for future concerns, and compensation for the distress caused. However, we have not received any response to our emails. We have attached photos of the receipt and the food, clearly showing the non-vegetarian pieces mixed into our vegetarian dishes. We hope that the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and implements necessary changes to ensure such incidents do not happen in the future.

I have visited this restaurant multiple times, primarily because it’s one of the few places open until midnight. However, after three disappointing experiences, I can no longer overlook the consistently poor quality of their food. My most recent visit was by far the worst. We ordered the Chicken Juicy Mandi and were told it would take 15 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes (order #…227), we received a dish that was unrecognizable as Mandi. The rice appeared to be hastily pressure-cooked with generic spices, resembling plain pulao rather than the aromatic, traditionally prepared Mandi it was advertised as. Despite our hunger, we struggled to finish even half of it—the flavors were bland and utterly unsatisfying. When I raised the issue with the manager, they responded with defensiveness and sarcasm, offering a refund in a dismissive tone. A refund is not the solution; I came for a proper meal, not to argue. What’s worse is the staff’s blatant disregard for customer feedback. They seem content to ignore criticism, relying on positive reviews while shrugging off genuine complaints. This isn’t the first time I’ve been let down here. On a previous visit, a dish labeled “Mirchi Chicken Biryani” (or something similar) was equally underwhelming. It’s clear the kitchen lacks expertise in the dishes they advertise. To the management: Train your chefs properly before offering specialties like Mandi. Authenticity matters. To potential customers: Save your time and money—this establishment prioritizes convenience over quality. I will never return, and I urge others to think twice before dining here.

One of the Worst Dining Experiences Ever – Avoid at All Costs! How can a dish be ready in 5 mins?? -> Everything was frozen and microwaved items in 5 mins and served to us that impacted our health and safety. Last night I visited Bawarchi on Ohio Drive in Plano, TX, expecting a decent Indian meal, but what I got was far from acceptable. The goat dum biryani had an awful smell that was downright nauseating, like it had been sitting around for days. It was clear the meat wasn’t fresh—tough, dry, and completely lacking in flavor. I ordered the green chili chicken and it was an absolute disaster. The dish was overloaded with green chilies sauce, not for flavor but seemingly just to burn your mouth. It wasn’t spicy in a good way—it was harsh, unbalanced, and borderline inedible. Worse, within an hour of eating, I started feeling intense stomach burning and discomfort. Clearly, the dish was not prepared with care or quality ingredients. I honestly regret taking even a few bites. To make things worse, it was obvious that most of the food had been microwave heated, not freshly cooked. You can literally taste the staleness and reheating in every bite. The overall hygiene of the place also raised red flags. The food felt unhealthy and carelessly prepared, like they just don’t care what they’re serving their customers. If you care about your stomach and your money, do yourself a favor and skip this place. It’s a disgrace to the Bawarchi name.
