We hosted a birthday party at Henrys over the weekend and really enjoyed the entire experience. Im a naturally anxious mom and i had a number of concerns but everything worked out beautifully and the entire staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. To start this was our first party since covid and my daughter invited her entire class so naturally it was impossible to get a head count. I wasn't sure they had enough seating but we arrived to find they had set up 2 large tables inside with cups/plates/ napkins and plenty of popcorn ready to go and my husband spoke with the woman behind the counter who assured us whatever we needed or wanted we were covered including the additional outdoor seating if needed. They weren't kidding 15 kids showed up and every last one of Henrys employees was all smiles and ice cream. it was a bit chaotic with that many people but they made sure the birthday girl got her sundae and patiently helped each kid pick whatever flavor they wanted before they went hog wild on the toppings bar. The kids loved the ice cream. almost all of them ate every bite and it basically made the cake we brought irrelevant. In fact if you're planning on a party here id recommend scaling back on the cake or ordering one of theirs the ice cream is really good on its own. we passed out pokemon cards for the kids to trade and they kind of went nuts but again the employees were so kind it didn't seem to phase them or the other customers at all. i'm pretty sure we stayed way longer than we were supposed to but most of the parents wanted to grab something to go and the kids found out they had sno cones and decided they weren't done. My husband did most of the communicating with the staff but i did have an opportunity to thank James afterwards as everyone worked very hard to make sure we had a great time and it was very much appreciated. Henry your entire staff Saturday afternoon was exceptional!
a couple tips if you're considering a party here: I recommend bringing treat bags for the kids to use to take the popcorn home, it makes a nice party favor. if you're bringing your own cake you'll want to bring your own knife to cut/serve it, we forgot and used the plastic ones. also go smaller on the amount. its a smaller venue so try to give them a head count in advance so they can get enough seating ready. trust me, i had my doubts but they can accommodate 15 kids and their parents just fine. The ice cream is so good, i wish i had communicated to the other parents that i wanted to cover them too. A few took me up on the offer but i think next time ill ask about having some take home pints ready as party favors. its just really good ice cream y'all everyone should have some.
we had a great time thank you...
Read moreI never thought about leaving a review for this place until a client asked me to have an event there and I refused. When I was in high school Henry almost had me arrested and unable to graduate, and it ended up being one of the worst experiences in my life.
I worked there and one night and after we had closed up someone broke in and stole money from a safe. The next morning I get a call at 730am telling me to come in and talk to some cops because someone had broken in and stolen money, and he knew I did it so it’d be best that I come in. I told him I had no idea what he was talking about and I had finals but could talk after, when he said he’d have the police come grab me from school. I lived in the neighborhood right behind there so I figured why not just go on my way to school, and did. When I got there he was with the an officer and he starts trying to interrogate me and asks if I knew why I was there. I told him and he says “well how do you know why you’re here then if you didn’t do it, to which I reply “you just called me and told me.” He then denied telling me until the cop says “umm I was right there when you called him and told him!” Henry then starts telling me to confess and how I’ll lose my scholarships and how he knows it was me, he’s going to call my parents, and school. The cops can sense something is off and pulls me aside and says Henry said he knew it was me and I was the only option. (Btw I had no key or code to the safe, or to the doors.) I deny and I’m seriously confused as to why he’s so adamant it’s me (hint, I don’t look like the other employees.)
I tell the cop that I have finals and I don’t do stuff like this and to check the cameras at all the places around us, and he says he will, and then offers me a ride to school. On the way to school the cop tells me something is weird with Henry, and that he was pressuring him to arrest me.
A few hours later that same cop comes to my school to tell me that they viewed cameras from the surrounding businesses and come to find out a manager had done it plain as day. He tells me he’s sorry that I had to deal with it, but Henry pointed the finger squarely at me, and even told them he didn’t need video because he knew. That cop was so cool and apologetic and he came back just to let me know not to worry because he was stressed about me taking my finals with this on my chest.
Henry never apologized and to this day I can’t stand the thought of him having other kids working with him. This is dude has issues, and shouldn’t be trusted. I remember when he came into studio movie grill when I worked there and he saw my face as the person taking his food and...
Read moreI so badly want to give this place 4 stars. The ice cream and even the cones are absolutely delicious! Henry's also has great creativity with their ice cream while still offering traditional flavors. There is a saying in the restaurant industry: "Great food brings guests in and great service brings them back". The service at Henry's does not match their ice cream at all.
My wife and I decided to try Henry's for the first time recently after hearing great things about the establishment. Once we approached the ice cream display we noticed that the employees behind the counter did not seem enthused that we were there or to be working at Henry's. When we asked simple questions we received a mumbled and hard to understand responses. This made us feel like we were annoying the employees so we stopped asking questions after only asking 3 and they were about the ice cream flavors. We even asked one question about the birthday cake ice cream because it looked like adjacent ice creams were accidently mixed in. The response, we think we got (Because it was mumbled), went along the lines of, "It's like the kitchen sink, everything goes in it". Confusing and sad response, if we even understood it correctly. I will say, the gentleman who took our payment thanked us and wished us a great night, so that was something.
Service is extremely important and I assume and hope the owners understand this. I'm posting my experience because if I were in the owner's shoes, I would want to know. Unfortunately, poor service really put a damper on our first and possibly only experience at Henry's. I don't know if we will go back to Henry's before trying another creamery, but there's a chance we'll give it another go...
