Update: This review was for Kyoto Ramen, which was previously in this location. I'm unsure if this is a new restaurant or they just changed the name or why Kyoto Ramen's page wasn't deleted, just changed.
I was excited for a new ramen shop to open nearby, however I'm in no hurry to return.
The atmosphere was okay. Fairly standard seating, generic pop music playing, a bar with the kitchen workers behind it. The waiters were very young and new but did fine. There was no traditional "Irasshaimase!" when entering.
The ramen was okay. The noodles were fine and I had the tonkatsu with Hokkaido broth, which was thick, but maybe not as rich as I would have expected. There was no offering of toppings, but it appeared every bowl came with a half boiled egg, corn, spinach, lettuce, and naruto fish cake. The egg in my ramen was quite cold. Why? :/
Overall, it was not great. Fine. I'd try it again if someone wanted me to go in a few months, but I don't see myself going back on my own anytime soon.
Also they don't appear to have a website. I wanted to check if this was a chain or not, or who owns it, but can't find any...

I will get to the new restaurant in a moment.
It was a ramen shop and dare I say it was my favorite ramen shop. I miss this place routinely. But time marches on. Progress is inevitable. All that we love will one day die. And that is a wonderful, beautiful thing.
On to this new restaurant.
KungFu Noodle was nice and clean. An attractive space, if a little small and with subpar parking. The staff was courteous, and fairly attentive. 8.5 out of 10
The menu was fairly large, if I remember correctly. The food was pretty good. A little pricey, especially since the portions were kinda small. 7 out of 10
Only major gripe was that it took quite a long time to get our food. Like, a very long time.
Overall, it was a nice experience, if a bit of a letdown compared to the restaurant before it. Definitely a good spot, and worth a try if you like this...
Read moreThe restaurant was empty when we got in. The woman looked impatient, no hello no nothing, just asked us how many people we are. When she gave us our drinks it looked like she wanted to be gone from our table - kind of threw the straws on the table and left. The food was average at most and we got the wrong egg type, since the server's english wasn't that great. We wanted a sunny side up, but got over medium as you can see in the picture. I've worked in the serving industry and I know what it looks like when an employee doesn't want to work. My suspicions got confirmed when she checked on us one time from afar after we almost had had finished our food at that point.
However what happened next never happened to me before and our table was a bit startled. Her and her husband (I suppose) started screaming at each other in Chinese (he was in the kitchen) . At one point she asked him to keep quiet since we were there I guess? He kept going off and at some point she raised her voice to which he shushed her. We left and I'm sure we...
