Today I had Lamb Shanks and rice! At this great Mediterranean bistro in Plano. I was starving and I found this little spot. That is a gem. This food was so delicious 😋 I'm dying inside, because I want more and I can't have it. The service is with a smile Solomon the chef knows exactly what he was doing i mean moist it basically fell off the bone and sweet and Jucy.
If your looking for a new spot to eat and try some thing different its a quiet laid back place in Plano. This is wow l!!! my mouth is absolutely buzzing right now.....they got Kabobs and everything here you won't be disappointed 👏
Also I'm aware of the cash discount program and it's not a surcharge. And they are not trying to hide anything I've come here first of all, because of the ownership and the food.. the reason more and more businesses are doing this is, because inflation is getting worse and they are having to raise their prices to stay afloat. So instead of doing that 10% across the board they are having to look into other alternatives to help ease the pocket books of their customers and to me that makes me very happy and grateful for them to do this.
So, I did some research with the credit card company's while I was at a different restaurant. Across the board they are having to raise their prices at least minimum 10% to cover the food, delivery and to pay employees the minimum wage. Which every one knows that is at $15.00 an hour.
Instead of doing that business owners found a way to help everyone out with out raising prices. To cover rising cost of inflation and everything else. So, this is how they are doing it and credit card company's are ok with it. Its called the cash discount program. Mostly every business is switching to this program to not have to raise prices. So what they do is put all the prices at the cash prices and if you use a card you will pay 3.5%.
So, in example 3.5% of $10.00 =$10.35 not $10.53 and if you spent $30.00 3.5% of that would be $1.05 so you will pay just $31.05 now if they raise the prices you are looking at $0.53 or more in prices raised per $10.00 do the math for he same price would be $31.50. Oh they are actually cheaper then most of the places i ate with the same foods In fact the cheapest.
The average for the same meal is $19.99 here below is just one of the places i ate a couple weeks ago for the same platter I ate here at a $17.99 which is a whole $2.00 cheaper if I used cash.
But i used a card instead which was $.63 cents more. For a total of $18.62 so if i paid $19.99 plus my taxes over $20.00 which would have been almost $3.00 more. I saved $3.00 on a really good lamb shank, rice naan and veggies. It was 5 star!!
There is also a sign at the register and the door that explains everything at the restaurant is priced at the cash price which is cheaper for me as a customer and also on the receipt so they did not hide it I will pay a little extra so they don't have to raise the prices to operate for everyone 😉.
The owners are outstanding as well I've been here a couple times and they are just amazing people to actually say they are trying to get over on their customers is disappointing and questioning there integrity is even worse stop doing it.
I will eat here again and again....and you should too...If you don't want to pay with a card bring cash you will save if you bring a card you still save and its convenience.. Great job guys thank you for caring enough to make great food and save me a ton of money....
because im going to eat here a lot more times and i have a bunch more people coming...
Read moreThese people are very rude and racist. My husband called this place to make an order and also was going to ask if they serve vegetarian mantos. A woman answered the phone and was very rude and disrespectful. My husband asked if they serve vegetarian mantos but before he can finish his sentence she cut him off by raising her voice with anger saying "NO, NO"! We were so confused because she didn't let him finish his question so why is she so unprofessional. He tried to ask again thinking maybe the lady didn't speak English well and once again she cut him off saying "NO, NO" and hung up. We were speechless because we have never experienced this type of treatment before. We wondered if we called the right place so I called back and asked "is this Express Kabob" and same lady stated "yes" and before I can pursue with my next question she yelled something in a different language and gave the phone to a man. I thought wow but not ok. I asked is he the manager and he said "yes". “Oh good I thought, now we can order our food but first I tried to explain our experience to him with the lady and my GOD, he was worse than the lady...He started to cut me off with a aggressive, thick accent "ma'am, ma'am, I don't have time for this right now...we are busy with our muslim customers...we are doing our Iftar, we are serving muslims". So, he was basically saying if you're not a muslim, you're not a welcome customer nor can be served. He also specifically stated he's not concerned about our business, our reviews and our concerns since we don't matter because we are not muslims. A customers is a customer...Customers should never be mistreated due to their race, religion, gender and etc...A restaurant should serve all of their customers equally. It's very disappointing to see this type of customer service here in the United States where we are all trying to be one nation under one GOD... I still can't believe this really happened. We are so glad we didn't go dinning in and get mistreated in person. I WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR FOOD WITH LOVE, LIGHT, AND PEACE. LOL, the workers of this restaurant left us with a very ugly, nasty, and bitter experience without even...
Read moreThe Bolani could have benefitted from some scallions and supple bread where the outer crispiness meshed with intensely rolled (paratha) dough on the inside. The potato filling was fine (i.e. not too spicy). It was not all fluffy to the traditional extent.
The Mantu was generously sized but not folded properly to survive the trip to the table. Not keen at all in having my Mantu doused with sauces which should be served on the side for "dumplings."
The Veggie Kabob while priced economically had onions, zucchini and red bell peppers in slices. A little short on the veggie varieties, methinks.
The Ribeye Beef Kabob used poor quality meat (and sadly not trimmed from gristle) that was extraordinarily dry and partly burnt upon arriving at the table.
The Chicken Koubideh was served in large pieces - broke up presumably when pushed out of the skewer.
The Doogh had the right amount of mint but perhaps an over-generous amount of cucumber that remained in the serving container owing to the manner in which it was served.
Also to rub salt into the wound, calling the unleavened bread "naan" here is sadly inaccurate - "lavaash" OK. Perhaps an attempt at serving genuine Afghani Naan is possible here?
Be warned that the concept of appetizer is alien here; the entire order is dumped on the table at the same time. Also, (when the owners are away), the cooks (too charitable to call them chefs) develop an attitude when inquiring about the status of the missing items in the order.
Difficult to find anything positive here when even the soda fountain needs repair and the chairs dirty...
