Nest Burger — Restaurant in Plano

I'm not sure how this place has over a 4-star rating. The algorithm is off or the reviews are "loaded." My daughter and I visited this business for the first and last time today. We went based on the rating but made the mistake of not scouting and reading various reviews.

Upon entering, the aesthetic wasn't the best but you can't always judge food by the look of the building; in this case, we should've. The male and female at the counter weren't the friendliest. They were leaning on the counter when we entered. That's fine; they could've been bored because there were no patrons at the time. I ordered the CBB (chipotle black bean burger) with no pickles, nest sauce, and sweet potato fries. My daughter ordered the 10-piece classic honey BBQ wings with regular fries and a drink. She forgot to get the drink because we were distracted by our surroundings. My gut told me to watch the preparation. Halfway through preparation, I observed the female dropping cooked sweet potato fries on the floor from the bowl of which she was mixing the seasoning and cooked fries. She then picked up the fries with gloved hands, threw the fries in the trash can, and proceeded to prepare food with the same gloved hands; she didn't bother changing her gloves. I also observed the male and female discussing what appeared to be minimal wing sauce in a canister. They picked the bowl up a few times, looked at it, and were having a discussion about it; not sure what the discussion was. The male then picks up the same wing sauce canister and mixed cooked wings in it. The food took all of 10 minutes; another red flag. The food is now bagged.

The female comes around the counter, still with the same gloves on, and weirdly stares at me with a stretched arm and bag in hand; all without saying a word...just an insanely awkward gaze, strange. I grabbed the bag and left. I knew once I opened the bag, I would be met with either disgust or sheer disappointment. Sadly, my daughter and I experienced both. She took one bite of one wing and stated it had an old, stale, store-bought taste. My burger was bland and flimsy at best. The nest sauce was equivalent to water so I have no idea what it's supposed to taste like. I didn't bother with the fries. we threw everything away; didn't bother finishing it. We literally wasted $30.22. Needless to say, we opted to have lunch elsewhere. I would never visit this place again.

Edited to respond to the "owner": If health and safety were taken seriously, the uncleanliness and lack of glove changes wouldn't have occurred in the first place. I hope the 2nd gentleman who entered the kitchen "while" the lady was committing the gross act wasn't the "owner/manager." If so, you deserve a dissertation as opposed to my "long article." Obviously, this isn't a first time incident. It's also obvious why the employees are rude. Focus on that and the other problems with this business instead of trying to be snarky. This place is cheap.. and not in a good way. We placed a large order with no onions on anything due to a horrible allergy. We also added toppings to our burgers. All of them missing their extra topping and covered in onions. We didn't get a single item we ordered correct. I can understand a mix up on one burger but the whole order? That's more than a rookie mistake, and their mistake could have cost me my life. How did they attempt to fix the mistake that could have potentially cost me my life? To give me a part refund and offer 20% off my next order. I won't be back to a place that doesn't take allergies seriously. So the 20% doesn't help me at all. Let me remind you every single item was made wrong. No offer to replace our food that we never got to try. Do NOT go here especially if you have an allergy!! They don't care if they put your life in danger or not. And they definitely don't care about their customers in general. Terrible place.

Edited to add in response to the owner: we had three burgers (one was a chicken burger) with no onions and extra toppings all three made incorrect. We also ordered loaded fries with no onions again they came covered in onions. So I'm not sure why we had 4 items made wrong and only got a refund for two of the burgers. Like I said only partial refund. We are still missing the money we missed out on the chicken sandwich and fries we never got to eat. boy oh boy where do i start... this place is phenomenal. firstly, the atmosphere is overwhelmingly welcoming. the music is spot on. on the overhead speakers the yodeling song was playing, which took me back to my middle school days of freedom and happiness. i placed my order with Zack, who offered exceptional service. he told me my food would be ready within 10 mins, so i went to wash my hands in the extremly clean bathroom, and by the time i came back, my food was ready! how friggin awesome is that. as i sat down to indulge in my food, my mouth was met by a big juicy beef burger, and those crisp amazing fries with that amazing seasoning. as a matter of fact, the seasoning is so good, i had to ask Zack for an additional cup of it. what did zack do you may ask? bro handed me the entire seasoning shaker and said, "give it back when ur done". i couldnt belive my eyes. as i shook the magical dust all over my fries, a great joy took over my body. halfway through my meal, i was thinking to myself, "could this food be any better?". and it hit me. some signature nest sauce would elevate this to another level. as i was thinking it, Zack sprung out from behind the counter, and offered me his excpetional services by provding me with nest sauce. on top of that i got to shake the owners hand, and man is he quite an amazing fellow.
