Nestled along the enchanting Granite Boardwalk in Plano, TX, Seager & Sons is a culinary gem that whisks you away on a nostalgic journey back to the vibrant 1970s. From the moment you step inside, the eclectic décor, lined with vinyl albums and retro memorabilia, envelops you in a warm embrace of nostalgia. The ambiance is further elevated by a soundtrack of classic 70s hits that seamlessly blend with the restaurant's modern twist, making it a truly unique dining experience.
Seager & Sons specializes in an impressive array of dishes, from hand-tossed pizzas to mouthwatering pasta and delectable fried chicken. Their menu is a love letter to the 70s, with creatively named pizzas like the “Play That Funky Music,” “Boogie Nights,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” I opted for the Blues Brothers Pizza, topped with Luscher’s Italian sausage, house cheese, garlic-roasted crimini mushrooms, classic red sauce, hot giardiniera, and hand-torn basil. The crust was a revelation—crispy on the outside, chewy and flavorful on the inside—making each bite a delightful experience.
For my pasta course, I chose the High Brow Pasta, which featured perfectly cooked tagliatelle, roasted chicken breast, spinach, garlic-roasted crimini, parmesan, oven-dried tomatoes, and a sweet onion cream sauce topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The dish was rich and comforting, striking the perfect balance of flavors and textures that left me wanting more.
But the star of the meal was undoubtedly the fried chicken, prepared with the Seager Family's secret recipe. Juicy and tender, each piece was accompanied by a delightful chipotle hot honey and a zesty Peruvian green sauce. The combination of flavors was simply divine, making it a must-try for any visitor.
To cap off this indulgent feast, I savored a slice of Butterfinger Ice Box Pie. With its creamy cheesecake base, luscious chocolate topping, and crunchy Butterfinger pieces, it was a sweet ending that perfectly encapsulated the joy of the meal.
What truly sets Seager & Sons apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff treated us with the kind of attentiveness and warmth that you'd expect from a Michelin 5-star establishment, making every moment of our dining experience feel special.
In a world where dining experiences can often feel generic, Seager & Sons stands out as a vibrant celebration of food, music, and nostalgia. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience that you won't find anywhere else. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this restaurant deserves a spot on your...
Read moreMy wife saw this place today in a Face Book post and told me about it and we went here for dinner tonight and I am very impressed! The decore here and really the entire vibe are all awesome. Pretty much pushed all our buttons on all the categories that we both like. Especially the music 🎶 🎵 they had playing the whole time 70's and 80's genre. The inside is very loud and blostious but is really nicely decorated. Words will not do it justice it must be experienced. We sat outside on the patio (much quieter) which over looks The Boardwalk at Granite Park Pond. Jordan was our server and he was super knowledgeable about the entire menu and knew all the dishes by heart. (I love it when staff displays so much positive enthusiasm and really takes pride in their establishment which this young man certainly does.) at his recommendation I sampled the Bannana Bread Old Fashioned (which i never would have done without Jordan's recommendation) and guess what??? It was really delicious! So I had 2 of them. Heather usually doesn't appreciate Whiskey based drinks being a Tequila girl, but she tried it and even liked it. For our appetizer we tried the Fancy Potato Skins and they where really good, down right delicious. Hard decisions because all the descriptions looked very tantalizing. We already picked out what we wanna try for our second and third visits if that's any indication. For our entrée we tried The Boogie Nights 14' Pizza (again at Jordan's behest) That guy knows his stuff. Unconventional style of Pizza with pickles, fried chicken and hot honey, probably something we would never have tried if left to our own devices, but was super yummy! (Jordan was 3 for 3 for the evening!) For our dessert we sampled The Butterfinger Icebox pie, which turned out to be a cheesecake like confectionery dream with the heavenly tastes of carmel, chocolate and peanutbutter in a sinfully large portion that we split between the two of us and still felt guilty about after we devoured it! but not to guilty We are definitely adding this place in our top 5 best hangouts category! Winning business model, awesome staff, over the top bar and drinks and delicious and imaginative food combinations. If you are near here definitely give this place a try. I will warn everyone it will be very busy at peak times and they do accept reservations which I highly recommend doing online. Parking at the garage behind is easier to find free spaces in then the packed parking...
Read moreWife and I ordered crab rangoon dip, lobster potato wedges, smaller portion of cesar salad, full bird, and mac n cheese side.
Crab dip is delicious and offers mild heat that you can drizzle a chili sauce on served with wonton fried chips. Lobster potato wedge is an order of 4 wedges generously topped with lobster and we put them away without hesitation. My doctor would be proud that I put something green on the dinner table. Cesar wedge salad was excellently dressed and carried memorable crunch - fresh cracked black pepper I’d suggest you add one extra twist than you’d normal ask for as the housemade dressing is creamier. As for the chicken with as many items we tried I should’ve gone for the half bird instead. A full bird is, unsurprisingly, the entire chicken: twice as many pieces which is enough for a whole family. Seasoned perfectly and coming out crispy with the hot honey and green sauce on the side I do not regret getting my hands dirty during dinner. Fret not as they bring out hot towels to clean your fingers at the end and along the way. Absolutely delicious flavorful juicy chicken. Pair fried chicken with glasses of Prosecco if you’ve never done it before, trust.
Conceptually the restaurant is based on pairing high-low. As the menu and our server highlighted “Lo-fi beats and high brow eats.” Lobster + potato, chicken + champagne, low lighting + high quality service.
Wife and I pretend we’re actual food reviewers when we try new places and make comparisons and suggest adjustments to each other for this and that. Our friendly server, Lo, was happy to hear any feedback and even brought over the GM, Billy, to hear us out on our non-serious food-filled-delirious-pairings and we’d always wanted to try caviar with fried chicken! Billy was generous enough to listen to us ramble and swung by and asked us to “Hold off on the half bird I got something coming.” He over delivered and brought out fresh made chips, crème fraiche, and some caviar they had on hand from the pre-opening + investor night a few days prior. We’re blown away by the teams surprise to go above and beyond and recommended to add caviar to the menu as a standard add-on in the future! We are putting this place in our rotation and have already made plans to come again and...
