Read moreI went here with my mother on Saturday, March 15th. We came so I could look for a nursery item and my mom also wanted to look at desks. We have browsed before but never bought anything.
We love the layout and the designed rooms for inspiration.
I took one star away because I did find the nursery item I wanted. It was marked ten dollars off and said "last chance". We found others that were very similar if not the same but they weren't marked down. They were display items, so I figured the display items was on sale since no others were marked down. I grabbed it and was taking it to checkout. We got as far as the bedding before a lady stopped us.
She had an attitude from the start and began interrogating us. Mind you we haven't even made it to the checkout yet. We were still looking at things to potentially purchase, but she was acting like we already stole it. She didn't even explain that at IKEA display items are usually not for sale (everywhere they usually aren't for sale). So she was just going to take it away. I did stop her multiple times from just walking off as I did want to purchase the item but needed the info and a picture to ensure I found the right one. I also had her look up to ensure the price was the same. She made it seem like it was the end of the world and I was asking so much from her. She was extremely rude and nearly ruined our experience.
I did find the bin where the item was but the item was not marked down. So I found a gentleman and explained the situation and asked him to see if they were marked down. He was the one to explain that IKEA never sells their display items and kindly checked for me. He said their signs weren't updated, but did help me find the item and assured me it would ring up appropriately. He was much nicer than the previous lady. We found the item and it did ring up correctly at checkout.
All in all my worst experience at IKEA. Do not be me and think display items are on sale no matter what the tag may say. You will get treated as a thief even if you meant no harm and just...
Read moreThe review is not for the products, as I have always loved Ikea products. My review is for poor customer service and the under-knowledge staff at this location. Never have I come across such rude staff in any of the Ikea location before. So apparently, they are running several offers to celebrate 80th anniversary. One of them being “free delivery above orders of $899”. In our attempt to avail this service, we had to speak to 4 different people as none of them knew what it was and every time we were guided to a different person till we landed at the “Home delivery counter” of the store. At the counter the person checked my receipt and said I cannot avail the offer as my bill amount is $898.65 before tax. I said I can buy something worth $1 and then would it be, ok? He said no, as it would be a different receipt. I finally landed up paying $41( normal delivery charges for Frisco area) for the delivery. This was such disappointing experience! I felt like, why do they have to put up the flyers about the anniversary offers if they are not interested in serving the customer rightly. I picked up stuff thinking that my total bill was above $900 but some meager discounts on some of the product brought the total down. The least I would expect is to be informed at the billing counter that I can or cannot avail the offer as I checked with the person while we were doing the payment and he told us he cannot help and sent us to home delivery saying only they can help us. But these people are least interested in customer service. They just want to get done with their routine work and direct you to someone else for the minimal query. For .35 cents of worth I had to pay $41. wow does that even make any sense. So so disappointed with this store. I would recommend online orders instead of visiting this place with rude staff. I would do that in...
