Food was decent, service was mediocre and pricing was ridiculous. Would NOT recommend. I understand, having owned a food service business with high rent/overhead and the pressure it places on the owners to raise prices, etc. but the pricing at this place is way above market, and for no good reason. Their service, food quality/quantity and selection are no better than the competition, and for many dishes they fall below that mark. Several of us were interested in ordering a Bento Box, etc.. but those meals are only offered Mon-Fri. So, we searched the menu for other options. The Bulgogi and Brown rice was abysmal - the dish was bland, luke-warm when it came out and the rice was mushy, overcooked and tasteless. The Volcano Roll had good flavor, was hot when it came out but was underwhelming - a Volcano roll is normally covered with shredded crab, scallops and fish chunks smothered in spicy mayo, then baked. This one was a California roll, with a dozen very small scallops on top and drenched in spicy mayo... not what you'd expect (especially for $21.00 a roll!!) [ even a hole in the wall in Bonham, Bamboo House, has better hand made rolls and for half the price!] The 121 roll was very good - hot when it arrived, full of flavor, etc. Only down side, the $18 a roll price tag. Side note; initially they said we could NOT split tickets, for a large, multi-family birthday party!! That we had to order on one ticket. In the end the manager did approve, for those of us who asked, to split the tab. ALONG WITH AN 18% gratuity, that the food nor staff had earned. In the end, we had a great time.. but that was due to the family and friends we were with; the restaurant added nothing of value to the event, unfortunately. Needless to say, we won't be returning and would recommend folks who are looking for a good dining experience, with good service and food options, to look elsewhere. UPDATE: Interestingly, the owner didn't see fit to respond to my original review, but DID when I changed a typo. That should speak volumes about the level of service they offer.

The chef was very friendly when I spoke to him on the phone. We came in that afternoon and enjoyed a light dinner and drinks with them. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. I had the uni ( my favorite) and hard to find where we live. My wife had King salmon, a first for her. We split the edamame, and as a surprise the chef came out with two hand rolls-tacos, that were unbelievably good and unique. The nori was covered in plastic that you removed right before you ate it to keep the nori crispy. We were both surprised how good they were. And to top that all they were on the house. Another stand out item is their pickled wasabi, a first for us, and very good. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in plato. Keep up the good work.

Blue Fish Japanese Restaurant in Plano delivers a memorable dining experience, particularly with its salmon sashimi and noodle dishes. The salmon sashimi was outstanding—each slice was fresh and impeccably prepared, boasting a rich, buttery texture that practically melted in my mouth. The subtle flavor of the fish paired perfectly with a hint of wasabi and soy sauce, making it a delightful start to the meal. The noodles were equally impressive, served in a savory broth that had depth and warmth. They were cooked to perfection, providing a satisfying chewiness that complemented the tender meat and fresh vegetables in the bowl.

I and my wife went there for Valentine's day dinner.

We order maybe 2-3 menus. My wife chewed a broken glass. (very tiny.. but big enough to say it was glass)

She was lucky not to swallow it - or maybe we swallowed some but did not realize. We called the server and showed the glass. He brought the food to the kitchen and the manage soon came..

He said they would take care.. we didn't know what it meant. We were kind of between mad and confused. He took care of some.. he took $20 off from our bill (total of $50-60). They asked us if we want anything else like dissert but we were just not brave enough to try more food there.. too risky. We did not know what we had to do..so just paid the bill and left the place.

We had to throw up some.. just to make sure we didn't swallow any. I might be just too sensitive.. but when I saw a piece of glass from my wife's it was scary enough to ruin our Valentine dinner. This happened like a few hours ago..we were just worried more about the possibility of consuming bigger piece of glass than complaining about the issue.

My wife said she would never go Blue fish.. so do I. maybe we were just unlucky..and this happens often? but who knows you would have consumed some piece of glass you just did...

I was a bit disappointed this visit. I went in for lunch there was only a couple tables occupied. The service was very slow, had to ask someone to take our order. My friend ordered a glass of wine took forever to flag someone for a new one as it had lipstick stain on the rim. I received my food fairly quickly but waited forever for my friends food. Then waitress came by to tell us last call for any food orders ( they close at 2pm) Told her we were still waiting for our other order. She looked puzzled? Came back again asked what did we order? Finally got the rest of our food by this time it was 1:50 felt as tho we were being rushed. The music shut off and then the tickets placed on table. It was like a morgue in there. I get it that you are preparing to close up till dinner time. I worked restaurant for 10 years, I get it. However, We are still eatting due to your lack of communication with each other or kitchen?? Idk where this exactly broke down today. Quite a bit of time between the delivery of my meal and my friend. I wait for their food and we eat together. But to get food late, and then you rush me and kill the whole atmosphere of it all. The typical rushed thank you on way out. Very...
