FIZZ — Restaurant in Plano

I found this place when looking for a nice lounge to celebrate my friend's birthday. I wanted to find a place with a laid-back vibe, nice cocktails and menu as well as good music and this place absolutely fit the bill. I came as soon as they opened to enjoy happy hour and while there were plenty of people at the bar, the seating area was pretty empty so the host allowed me to pick my seat. As eccentric as some of the chairs looked they ended up being SUPER comfortable. The also have an outside patio with tons of seating and it's own bar. I would have loved to sit out there, but it was one of our 100 degree summer days so that is going to have to wait for next time.

I got there before my friend and told our server, Dominick, what we were celebrating. He asked her name and as soon as my friend arrived our server gave her a personal "Happy Birthday" greeting. Our first round of drinks was It Is What It Is and Paper Plane. We enjoyed them both, but my friend was looking for something particular and after asking our server a few questions about their liquor options, the bartender, Jesse, came out and sat at our table to figure out what we were looking for. After describing different things, the bartender went back and made something special for us. It was AMAZING and we named it the Badass. It's not on the menu yet, but if you ask for it he will hook you up. It's rum based and a nice balance of sweet and strong with a fruity flavor. We ordered more than one - obviously...lol. We also got the charcuterie board which was perfect and they even allowed us to pack up the leftovers to take home which was extremely surprising. I absolutely love the people whom I've had the opportunity to meet at this establishment. Moreover, I adore the owner as well as the big guy who is "always" there running the show. Mr Frank Dixon. You will never meet another man who is as courteous, attentive, thoughtful, maintains his composure no matter what. More importantly, he runs a tight ship. But what impressed me the most about how he conducts business here at Fizz. Is how you always feel safe. He is so diverse in his managerial skills. Yet, his professionalism and charisma combined with his most impressive asset, by far. His character and honesty. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you about all the wonderful attributes this man does carry within his person. He needs no introduction. His character speaks for itself. Just stop by this classy and cool hot spot for a drink or a chat. Or some quiet time before you go home. You won't be disappointed. Don't forget to stop and say hello to the one and only Mr Frank Dixon. Anything you need, he will take care of you. Customer Service is just not a way to describe how well this business takes care of their customers. The only way I can describe it here is when you arrive, you feel as if you are home. See for yourself. Jeff, the owner has such an eclectic vision and designers mind. His decor and intent for his customers is one of comfort and style. I gave this place a try for my birthday, I was sad to find out after i got there that the live DJ doesn't get there until 9pm, they never told me that over the phone, just got me excited about the live DJ. My party was reserved for 6pm in the patio where the music was very faint and hard to hear, whole time old classic rock mixed old western music was playing over the speaker which wasn't the upbeat music I was hoping for so I asked if they could change up the music to upbeat dancing music until the DJ gets there, we were told no because the owner doesn't like hip hop music. So my party guests and I were bummed and just had to talk amongst ourselves. My party wrapped up around 9 and as we were walking out the DJ barely started playing!!!. 🙁 I was so disappointed because that was the main thing I wanted to do for my birthday. 😢 we never got to dance. I honestly would have chosen a different place if they had told me the DJ was going to be there that late. The other issues were the menu confusion, they had their old menu mixed in with their new menu and we were given both, we kept having to change our orders because they didnt have a lot of the food options. They also got our drink orders wrong. The only positive thing there is the bartenders are nice and our waitress was very sweet and had a great personality. She's the only reason I gave this place 2 stars...
