Food was okay. A little bland but they have hot sauces on the condiment table to kick it up a bit if needed. The wife and I had lunch (two lunch plates and two drinks) and our total out the door was $31.31 which was high for this type of lunch on a weekday. You order like you are at a Subway and then pay and get your plate down by the cash register. This place was full of high school kids from nearby so it felt more like a school cafeteria when we were there. Really no atmosphere, just tables, chairs and a couple of booths. All in all I'm not interested in going back but it looked like a few people (besides the students) were regulars so it must appeal to some people. Sorry I didn't get any food photos. They wouldn’t impress you anyway,

El Queso is definitely where all the OGs used to hang out, and I can see why. Honestly, it's better than Chipotle in most aspects—you can put jalapeños in your burrito, which is a huge plus. The combinations here are endless, and the variety is great for customizing your meal. But taking off the rose-colored glasses for a second, I’ve gotta admit, the food is just alright. The atmosphere, though, is where things fall flat. The place feels lifeless, and while it’s clean, the bathroom was out of almost everything, including soap and pretty much water. Plus, I found a small hair in my food, which wasn’t ideal. Still, if you’re on a budget, it’s not a bad choice at all—it’s basically the better version of Chipotle. Four stars.

I went to El Queso and got a bowl with barbacoa and a bunch of other toppings. Overall the food was really good and on par with chipotle. My only problems were the lack of flavor in the rice. Outside of that everything was week done. I highly recommend the barbacoa as the spice and tenderness of the meat is exceptional. Furthermore the salsas pack a nice flavor profile which compliments the bowl and the addition of raw onions goes a long way. Overall I very much enjoyed the food and the service and will be returning!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Queso Mexican Restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. This hidden gem is tucked away in a charming corner of the city and exudes an inviting and lively ambiance. With its vibrant decor and warm atmosphere, it immediately sets the stage for a memorable Mexican culinary journey.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly staff who promptly seated me at a cozy table. The menu offered an extensive selection of traditional Mexican dishes, and I was eager to explore the flavors and spices that awaited me.

To kickstart my gastronomic adventure, I ordered the guacamole and chips as an appetizer. The guacamole was freshly made, boasting a creamy texture and a perfect balance of tanginess and spices. The chips were light, crisp, and clearly homemade, providing an excellent vehicle for the...
