If you don’t want to lose any time in your precious lifetime line, don’t go to Valerie‘s for breakfast or lunch. They are understaffed which means that what should be a 10 to 15 minute fastfood experience turned into a 45 minute nightmare. Got there at 10:45 and called to see if I could place a to go order. The guy in the phone said no not at this time and hung up. So we went to the drive-through and had a hard time placing our order. It was a simple order, two breakfast tacos with bacon, cheese and cilantro, no potatoes, on corn tortillas. The second order, for the vegetarian, was three breakfast tacos with just egg, cheese, and cilantro. After waiting at the window for 20 minutes, we got the orders. We pulled out and looked at the first order which was correct with the bacon. The vegetarian order was just all sorts of wrong. It was two corn tacos with potatoes, cheese, and cilantro. No eggs. So I go in and have to wait on the young man who is working both the lobby and the drive thru. Finally, I get his attention and I ask for the correct order. After waiting 10 minutes he comes back and asks me to tell him the order again. I’m trying to stay patient at this point. I tell him and the cooks in the back what I want IN SPANISH (I’m bilingual). Tres cosas: huevo, cilantro y queso. NO PAPAs!! After waiting another 15 minutes I get the order complete, with potatoes!!!! Unbelievable. One of the cooks came out and asked me in Spanish what I wanted and I repeated the three things again and she said I’ll go do them and I said oh no we’re done I can’t. I’ve lost 45 minutes of precious time I can’t spend anymore time here with you. I will, however, give a review of what went down. And that’s what I’m doing. I did suggest that the young man close the window and only work out of the lobby, but he said he wasn’t allowed to do that. So now, instead of giving good service in one of the entrances, you’re giving bad service out of both entrances. I did see customers walking out after waiting a long time in the lobby to place an order, but got tired of waiting. One man even told me that the place has really gone down. So until the owners get serious about running this place correctly, I would avoid at all cost. The food wasn’t even that great. I wish after all this it would have been worth it. Nope, not worth...
Read moreRolled Tacos from Hell! Think about it, with a menu this large how can the food be fresh? First of all, to be able to sell a combination of 12 rolled Taco’s, can you imagine how many you would have to have on hand, at any one time to complete four orders? 45! That means that they possibly have hundreds on hand, already made. So my question is, what happens if the demand is not close to or greater than the Rolled Tacos, that they have on hand, what do they do with the excess that they haven't sold for days? Do they throw them out, or do they keep selling them? friends of mine, brought two boxes of Rolled Taco home for us to eat, one Chicken and the other Beef. I Opened the box and behold, enough Rolled Tacos to feed a small Army. Rolled Taco in California would have been called Taquitos which were my favorite, I became very happy and anxious to grab a few, I chose the Chicken first, this is no joke, my front teeth could not penetrate or go through the Taco, without me using my back teeth. What century were these Taco made BC? I put what looked like a lite guacamole sauce, on the roll taco before putting it in my mouth, once I was able to tear off a bite, my mouth immediately exploded with pain, to the degree that, my mouth caught on fire, and it felt like my throat started closing up. Well, that was a total disaster, I guess, that wasn't guacamole, so I went on to the beef tacos, which were a lot better, the only difference was, there was more meat in the beef taco, and the taco didn’t appear to be as old stale or as Hard. These have had to be the worst tacos that I’ve ever had in my life. . I would be very careful and suspicious with ordering any food from this place, because I have suspicions that, they are recycling, old food, especially food that they have made days, or even weeks ahead of tima! I'm very surprised that I didn't get sick from eating those. Rolled Tacos from the nearest grocery store freezer would have tasted better, and we all know how they taste? When you make thing way ahead of time, the quality suffers greatly, and you lose money and customers! Food not only has to look good, it has to taste good. Your Rolled Tacos received a F- you should have never served them, in doing so you have lost me as a customer! Your quality control is seriously...
Read moreMixed Experience at Valerie's Taco Shop
I recently visited Valerie's Taco Shop, and while I found the service to be exceptional with welcoming and friendly staff, I can't say the same about the food itself. In all honesty, it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had with Tex-Mex cuisine.
The main issue I encountered was the lack of flavor in the dishes. Everything seemed rather bland and lacked the robust and vibrant taste that I associate with Tex-Mex cuisine. It left me wanting more in terms of seasoning and spices. The quality of the ingredients also fell short of expectations, further contributing to the overall disappointment.
Despite these shortcomings, I must acknowledge the potential I saw in Valerie's Taco Shop. With some recipe revamping and an enhanced focus on flavor, this place could truly shine. The exceptional service provided by the staff indicates that the establishment has the right foundation, but the food itself needs improvement to match the warm and friendly atmosphere.
In conclusion, while Valerie's Taco Shop has a long way to go in terms of its culinary offerings, the welcoming staff and their commitment to providing excellent service are worth noting. I hope to see positive changes in the future that will elevate the dining experience and bring out the true potential of this...
