Hobby Lobbyâs owners, the Greens, say they have moral convictions against 4 of 20 birth control options available through the ACA. In fact, the Greens had no moral reservations before their filing a lawsuit in 2012, providing all of the birth control in question, except IUDâs. Recently, it has been brought to our attention that Hobby Lobbyâs 401k investments are in the pharmaceutical companies, who make the birth control the Greens morally object. This raises another question. If the Greens have such moral objections to the birth control in question, then why would their company do business, or buy product from China? China is a communist nation, and doesn't allow its people to have the freedom to worship freely, and what about Chinas forced abortion policies?
In the Treaty of Tripoli, the Government recognized it has in itself âno character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquilityâ. So if a Government, which is by the people and for the people, recognizes it is not a person, then why would Hobby Lobby, a forâprofit corporation, made by people for people, feels it has religious precedence over its employees? I say it does not. FRFA applies to non-profits; the Greens are asking the government to be treated as a corporation, to receive special privileges, but then be treated as an individual. Hobby Lobby is not a person, so no rights are violated. It has no rights to religious freedoms. The Greens are free to practice, preach and believe in anyone and in any way they so choose. They do not, however, have the right to impose their beliefs on everyone. The âslippery slopeâ would be if the SCOTUS rules in favor of Hobby Lobby. It will open the doors to discrimination and send our Country...
Read moreI like going in the store and looking around to see whats new. I found little items, went to ring ir up, and cashier acted like a robot repeating the same thing when asked what will it come to with 40% coupon. Sge kept repeating the retail price with out subtracting the coupon. I could see she was getting frustrated so ipuuled out my phone to do the math, then she realuzed what i was asking. I do not like it when a cashier is adamant that an item is not on sale without looking to see if a sign is up stating an item could be on sale because of possible signage error (sale sign left up). I just did not buy as much, no biggie. I did not want to hold up the line so i bought less items. Curiosity got the best of me, so called the store from the car, spoke with manager that heard part of my conversation, went back to see signage that should have been taken down from previous ad. Tried to make it right, but i was happy knowing i read the sign correctly but for wrong week that was left up. I ended up laughing about it. Her personality and understanding while going the extra mile was a pleasant change. Thank you.
Update: Went into the store again to get a couple of small items, manager spotted me, had a polite conversation and she still wanted to make it right. I said no need, it's all good. She went above and beyond to catch up with me at the register and in fact made it right. Thank you, but you didnt have to do that.. I forgot her name but very nice person who is passionate about her job. Very rare quality that we need more...
Read moreI generally do love hobby lobby. I was in town visiting my son. I used to live in the area so I'm familiar with this location. However when I walk through the door one of the employees in my opinion was very curt and unfriendly when I asked her where I might find glass etching stickers stencils. Her response was I don't know 64 or 66. Do not let her ruin my day with her meanness I decided to just venture since I tend to walk up and down every aisle anyway. When I was finished and ready to check out she was tending to the little kiosk by the register. Ask me if I was ready to check out I said yes ma'am Thank you. She told me that registers open for self checkout and walked away. 𫤠As I was doing my self check out, another woman walked up and she was friendly and said I can help you over here man. Then I quickly realized the self checkout was not accepting cash and only credit She told me I then would have to wait and she could check me out at her register. So I had to wait for her to help the lady and her friend with two separate checkouts. I don't understand why she couldn't do a check out for me or at least guide me as to it was only a debit or credit self checkout. I do think and believe that employee needs further training on her customer service skills. As well as guidance as to barking at customers walking through the door when they're asking...
