Let me preface this by saying we all need to support our local businesses. Don't let my review discourage you from trying Parlor Donuts and deciding for yourself. With that here's what my family thought. The location in Pleasant Grove has only been open for a short time and the drive from our house to the PG location was about a half hour. I ordered 6 Donuts - 2 campfire, 2 sprinkle, 1 coconut cream, and and Oreo from the app. This worked very well. I was quite impressed with the simplicity there. If you do decide to get some Parlor Donuts I would recommend ordering from the app. When I got to the location it was busy. There was nearly a line out the door and this was at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning. The PG location was clean and smelled good inside. I waited my turn and was helped by a very nice young lady. I grabbed my order and headed back to the car. I snapped a quick pick knowing I was planning on doing this review. I consider myself to be somewhat of a donut snob having been spoil by the best donuts, in my mind, growing up. Let me say, these are not donuts. While they have the shape of a donut there is no hole. These are croissants that have been fried. The texture is not of a donut, whether it be a yeast donut or a cake donut. Unfortunately, the 6 donuts we purchased were very dry and were lacking in flavor. The toppings they added were the only flavor and there wasn't much to speak of. There's not much for originality as all the "donuts" were the same thing with a different glaze. To sum up, because of the distance and the lack of flavor and the dry texture, almost burnt, and the cost, we won't...
Read moreI had been wanting to try this place for a while since it opened near my apartment. I finally went today and loved the experience. Susanna was a sweetheart and had great recommendations. She said the Lemon Curd was her favorite, and I see why. That’s my new favorite too. I also got the Raspberry Pistachio and Blueberry.
Like other reviews have said, it is not a typical donut, it’s a croissant dough. I can see why some flavors aren’t quite as impressive due to having the glaze only on the top. I found the Raspberry Pistachio and Blueberry to have a very tame flavor profile for this exact reason. However, that’s typical for how most donuts taste. That’s why I found the Lemon Curd to be so amazing. It had a fantastic tang from the glaze alone, but went a step further and had lemon curd filling. I typically prefer donuts that have filling in other settings, which makes sense why the Lemon Curd was so favorable to me.
I also had the Mango Passionfruit Coconut Milk Refresher (as per Susanna’s recommendation) and found it so fun. It was definitely refreshing while still being flavorful. They include the dehydrated mango and coconut chunks that were enjoyable.
I’m glad I got to experience this place! I will easily recommend this to others to try when they’re...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Parlor Doughnuts, and I’m already planning my next one! Heidi helped us out on our first trip and recommended trying a few different flavors — we went with Cookies & Cream, Turtle, and Chocolate Chocolate. All three were absolutely phenomenal. I’m not sure if it’s the official term, but these “croughnuts” (croissant + doughnut) are to die for — buttery, flaky, and perfectly sweet.
On our return visit, we tried the French Toast flavor, a fan favorite — and now I totally get why! It tasted just like an indulgent slice of French toast. YUM.
Out of everything, I’d still go back for the Cookies & Cream — it’s rich, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent.
The two guys working today were super helpful, answering all our questions and offering great recommendations. The shop has a super cute, welcoming vibe, and it’s always spotless. Everyone we’ve interacted with has been so kind and friendly.
Pro tip: we came on a Friday at 1:30 PM and didn’t have to wait at all. On the Saturday of opening day we waited about 45 minutes — totally worth it, but if you can swing a weekday visit, it’s a great way to...
