I asked if there were any tryouts for plays coming up, the lady in charge said there was and date and time. So my daughter worked really hard to practice for the so called auditions for the play and went and tried out. We got an email a couple days later with a link for her to sign up for their theater group and came to find out it wasn’t just trying out to be in the play, they want you to pay $476 to be in the theater group for a couple months to be in ONE play. First of all the dishonesty, making us think we were just trying out to be in the play and my daughter working her little bum off to try out just be lied to and told we have to pay $476 to be in the play. It so dishonest and greedy just wanting to make money off of kids wanting to experience acting in play, especially all the fees they have including $80 a month for the class, a registration fee?, performance fee?. First of all, that performance fee is insane, why do we need to pay to perform in the play when we are doing all the work to learn the lines and act the part for hours and days, thats alot of hard work folks, and we should not have to pay the company to work our butts off to be apart of a play we are already are paying the tuition for, for the costume, registration fee and all that jazz. I can understand paying for the costume so of course theres a cost for the outfit to be made but another thing is the costume doesn’t even neccessarily have to be made, you can buy them cheaper online alot of times. Why do they need a registration fee? Your already paying the tuition every month and did all the work to try out and sign up. It all just sounds very shady and scammish and the dishonesty...
Read moreMy family attended the Alpine Community Theater's Christmas Carol play last night... it was amazing! If you haven't seen it yet, you should get tickets immediately before they sell out. I was truly impressed with the cast and the lighting, special effects, backdrops, props, costumes, all of it! Impressive vocals, charismatic personalities, talented dancing, and entertaining the whole way through. It easily kept my eight year old's attention, and he was very excited to get a picture with Jacob Marley after the show. It was comfortable, clean, cozy, there were snacks/treats, plenty of restroom stalls, a long enough intermission but not too long... We loved it! If you're looking for something to help get you in the Christmas Spirit for the Holiday Season, I highly...
Read moreNice new venue has the aesthetic of a highschool auditorium, but with some fancy theater upgrades, such as reserved seating, stage wings, and a rotating platform. They were still working out some sound issues--mostly mic popping--but overall it went pretty smoothly on the technical front, for community theater.
The play we saw had a blend of medium to high-quality community actors; just right for giving newcomers a shot, but still delighting the audience.
We look forward to many more...
