⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – “The food’s Greek. The portions? Not so much.”
“Come for the dolmades. Stay because you’re still hungry for more dolmades.”
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Pleasant Grove delivers on flavor and freshness—but leaves you with just enough room in your stomach to wonder if you accidentally ordered from the kids' menu. Still, what they do serve is good. Sometimes really good.
Here’s how it all went down:
🥙 Mezze Plate – 7.9 Flavorful and fun... but portion control was in full military lockdown. Let’s break it down:
Dolmades – Delicious. You’ll wish there were more than two. Or even three dozen more.
Falafel – A little dry, but thankfully rescued by a very solid tzatziki.
Hummus – Could’ve used more seasoning; felt like it was still deciding who it wanted to be.
Spanakopita – Tiny. Flaky. Average. A one-bite wonder that doesn’t linger. But why just one bite?
Side salad – Served in what looked like a generous portion, but clearly a distraction tactic. Like, “Hey, don’t notice everything else is bite-sized—look at all this lettuce!”
🍯 Baklava – 8.1 The highlight. Sweet, sticky, crunchy, and so good it converted my kids into full-on baklava believers. They’re now aggressively pro-Greek-dessert, and honestly, I'm ok with that.
👧👦 Kid Verdict: Everything hit right. They loved their food and officially declared Greek cuisine superior to whatever they were into before this. So… win?
My one gripe? The menu’s a little too “Greatest Hits of Greece According to Americans.” The gyros and souvlaki? Solid. But where’s the moussaka? The pastitsio? The stuff your Greek grandma would make when you were sick or sad or just breathing? Utah County’s ready, Great Greek. Feed us the deep cuts.
Bottom line: 🥙 Mezze flavors are there—but the portions are in witness protection. 🥗 That side salad was a diversion, and I'm not buying into it. 🍯 Baklava and tzatziki saved the day.
Four stars. Tasty intro to Greek cuisine, but we’re ready for the director’s cut menu. Bring on the...
Read moreI love the great Greek, and I usually get two dishes, but I always get the salad, it's usually amazing. Tonight I spent $10 on a large salad to go, and when I got home I was disappointed to find a dish of dry lettuce and onion completely missing the dressing and this it was completely disappointing. It was also missing the tzatziki
I was told that because the dressing is free they couldn't do anything other than offer "extra dressing and tzatziki" next time I come in.
Really? Not even a coupon for a discount or some bonus rewards points? Instead of something useful I was offered Greek salad turned into soup because they gave me a disappointing dry salad. Talk about going to extremes in all the wrong ways.
This is like going to an Italian restaurant and ordering spaghetti and getting a plate of dry noodles, and be told that because the spaghetti sauce is free all they can offer is extra sauce next time you come in.
The offer of extra dressing next time I spend $10 on a salad after they completely forgot to dress it this time is as useful as a bungee jumping company forgetting to give you any rope, and then offering to give you extra rope the next time you pay full price to go bungee jumping!
How about a skydiving company forgetting to give you your parachute and then after you jump they say, our bad! Sorry! Next time we will give you two!
In short, after paying for a terrible salad, and being offered a terrible salad as compensation, I absolutely do not recommend...
Read moreI’ll be honest I know this place is usually good they have them in Las Vegas but I’ve now came to this particular one 3 times already and to be completely honest it’s absolutely horrible from the food to the staff service and staff are slow and green they don’t listen orders have always came out wrong even after you repeat your self several times just now walked in spent $80 on dinner btw they wouldn’t except $100 bills because there not allowed too like ok but it’s only $20 change and why aren’t they trained to know counterfeits but whatever back to the service and food waited 45 minutes for the food when it did finally come there was hair in it which the waitress seen as handing it over she took it back then 10 minutes later brought it back like WTH anyway we asked for the souvlakis to be medium well and they were both raw lamb and beef not just like rare but raw blood gushing out asked to have it taken care of and they told me there’s nothing can do we actually love this place it’s our favorite Greek chain but I guess this particular spot is just bad and it’s Greek food it’s priced high but for the price it should be prepared well and the staff should be better trained in customer service and food prep and safety anyway this is the 3rd horrible experience we will definitely not...
