The Royale — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

Saw posts and photos about this restaurant and it looked intriguing even a little fancy for a breakfast place. We enjoyed the decor especially the many gold themed items from the utensils right down to the drinking straws! The unique edible flower garnishes that accompanied many of the drinks and plates was also a nice touch.

We ordered several things to try including the omurice with sirloin. It was my first time finally trying an an omurice omelette, and while the center wasn't runny like I've seen in video's of the egg being cut open along the top and soaking into the rice, (overcooked?) it was still tender in the middle with a good flavor.

My kids each ordered hot chocolates and really enjoyed the cute bear glasses they were served in.

We also tried the ROYALE's bacon which was delicious!

To drink I ordered a Super Tom Yum Mary and my wife ordered a grapefruit mimosa, we both enjoyed our drinks as well as the presentation to make them look nice.

While we were eating the owner came over and chatted with us, asked us how we found out about this place, and even let us know they were considering expanding to dinner menus/hours, which we will very much look forward to!

The food is on the pricy side, but considering the name and theme of this restaurant that should...

TL;DR - The Royale is my new favorite restaurant in the Bay Area! The service is amazing, and the food is divine.

So far I’ve tried the “Chicken Waffle” for breakfast/brunch, the “Ultimate Smashburger” for lunch & “The Majestic” for dinner. All dishes were 11/10! With fresh, flavorful ingredients, any menu item will most likely impress you. I also recommend the Dua Lipa inspired “Croffle” if you have a sweet tooth. (It’s like if a croissant and a waffle had a baby 🤌)

They have drinks too🍹 During the dinner service I ordered a sidecar. Easily one of the best I’ve ever had! They have signature cocktails as well, but I haven’t tried them yet. They look really good though!

Lastly, ALL of the staff members are very attentive and kind! You’ll be greeted as soon as you arrive (or shortly thereafter), and you’ll be seated promptly if there are seats available. The staff constantly checks in to see how you’re doing. You’ll even see the owners refilling water, serving food, and putting themselves to work!

This place is amazing, by far the best breakfast or brunch spot on a street that is filled with great options. Very family friendly, and also very family oriented as far as the staff. Every person takes care of you regardless of who your server is.

The service, the decor, the ambiance, the menu, the quality of the food, the creativeness of the drinks, I just can't say enough about this place.

There is also a vegan option for tofu scramble that people in our party ordered. They have unique or creative dishes like an omurice (that everyone is simply calling steak and eggs but that is a disservice to call omurice just eggs) chicken and waffles, amazing bacon, E touffe, Tom yum paella, in addition to all the classics. They have a real good white cheese sauce that comes on a few items or that you can get on the side that is very good.

Mother's day had props and items for photos and the owner going around with a Polaroid camera to make give everyone a family photo before leaving.

We love this place they definitely stay true...
