Walking into this gelato place, I knew this place was like no other. Behind the cash register was a man, such an interesting man. He had not noticed I had walked in yet so I got to see him dance. This worker was busting out all kinds of moves ranging from the renegade to the YMCA. I immediately wondered what was putting this delightful man in such a happy mood? So I listened closely and could hear the faint sounds of my favorite artist, CupcaKe, playing over the speakers.
Immediately I knew this was the place.
At last, this man noticed me, and he didn't even stop doing his jig! Oh how he danced! He was very kind to me when I had a difficult time choosing out good flavor, as he just kept on jamming out to queen CupcakKe. At last, I decided on choosing the mint chocolate chip flavor, and this gentleman told me that flavor was his favorite. Wow. This young man and I have a lot in common.
After I payed for my gelato, this man immediately went back to busting out moves, but this time, he started Irish dancing, my favorite. I decided to join while he danced, an experience like no other.
I then asked this man for his name.
"José Laureano-Colón," he said.
Thank you José Laureano-Colón and Almare Gelato Pleasanton for helping me find my jig, I will be returning to this...
Read moreIt's a shame that they care so little about this location. The male employee always closes early, and when you show him the time on your phone he argues with you. I never had that problem with the other employees.
My bigger issue is that the hot chocolate machine has been broken for over a year. When I first moved here I asked for one and they just told me they were out. After repeatedly asking every time I came in I was finally informed that the machine had been broken for quite some time, management is aware but refuses to fix or replace it.
Their Gelato was pretty good and fair priced, but I can't support a business who does not care about their employees or their customers.
Edited to add: these issues were before the pandemic, during visits between October...
Read moreThis is rating for just the italian cookies they sell. They don't mind selling cookies past their expiration date, and at an insane price. Never again. See pictures attached. Purchase date: February 11, 2022. Response to owner: I appreciate that you mind. I like to support small businesses, especially italian, and that's why I bought 5 packs of cookies from you at once. I also always leave very fat tips whenever I buy the gelato. I was just disappointed on finding not one, but two packs expired out of the 5 I bought and finding out about the expired date by their altered taste. I am changing this to a 5 star review in good faith that this was an isolated incident. And you can keep the money of the expired cookies as a tip. I had to...
