I would never have considered writing a review for a fast-food chain until now. We have a McDonald's within walking distance in Ann Arbor on Plymouth Road and because of the ever so consistent awfulness over there I now have met its counterpart, the place where every McDonald's and all fast-food joints could take a lesson from. Here is my honest review for a truly exceptional fast-food experience.
So we first went through the drive-through several times at the height of the pandemic. Here is my list of observations:
Speaker sound is crispy chicken great!
The voice's behind the speaker are clear to understand and at a speed that us over 50 can appreciate.
The tellers SMILE and are genuinely NICE, it is obvious they are being treated with respect and paid a decent wage. It's like they really enjoy their jobs, not like an automaton with a “could care less attitude” like so many others, especially like the one on Plymouth Road in which we have 12 years of disappointments under our belts.
The FRIES are ALWAYS FRESH, HOT and perfectly salted and a large is filled to the top so much so that several fall out while being put in the bag.
(I can't express eloquently enough how sad other places like Plymouth Rd in A2 included, skim fries off the top to save a few pennies.) The box of fries looks lonely and depressing, and I should know because depression is a childhood friend of mine. ;)
Wait time is fast even if you order the Filet -O- Fish Sandwich!!!
This next one is super important in my books:
When you open up your food it looks like someone paid attention to detail with love. Not like it was slapped together in a haste while spewing over how much "this job sucks" with missing pickles, dried out burgers, all toppings are slim and thrown on one side so you have to take the bun apart and fix your poor excuse of a burger yourself etc.
Have you ever been inside a place like this and thought to yourself, "Toto I have a feeling we're not in Kansas any more!"
This is exactly how we felt walking in for the first time! The décor and interior design gave off a warm welcoming vibe with fresh flowers situated just "right" on the counters. The ambiance of the dining room tells you, “Hey come on over, take a seat and enjoy your meal. No rush, stay as long as you would like.”
While taking all this deliciousness in I noticed a nice looking tall Elder gentlemen rise from the table to leave and just then another stunningly handsome gentlemen of the same age come out from the back, not as tall but looking mighty good in a freshly dry-cleaned white uniform resembling something out of the 50's. He is important, I just know it. They shared an old-school man hug with hands gently hugging the others shoulder while saying good-bye.
While taking a few pic's of the dining room I told the Elder customer as he was leaving, "This place is very special, I'm writing a review!"
He looked down at me and said in such heartfelt honestly, "Yes, it IS a very special place."
Kind Sir dressed in white, we LOVE your McDonald's and can't wait to visit again!

Read moreUpon entering this restaurant, the floors were unclean, the tables still had food from previous customers that left a mess. I proceeded to the restroom, where I found the floors nasty, the stalls, because I checked them all had urine and feces. The smell was horrible. I could not even use the rest room because it was soo filthy. I proceeded to the front counter to advise the manager, and saw the floors were filthy where my food was going to be prepared. The staff looked unclean, dirty shirts, and uniforms. Ketchup packets, French fries on the floor and other items on the floor. Just based on everything I witnessed This restaurant failed my expectation on so many levels. The manager (female) approached and I advised her it's too early in the day for the restrooms to be in such a poor condition. She was rude and unprofessional and seemed unconcerned with what I had to say. Like so what and... I told her based on what I saw, the very poor condition this store was in, and her attitude That I could not risk getting food poisoning. She walked away while I was speaking to her to further let me know she didn't care what so ever. I will spend my money elsewhere. THIS has turned my views on McDonald's and I will never go to this store ever again. This an hazard to the public. Just imagine going through drive threw and never seeing the filthy store up close. You never know whos cooking your food. My advice is to stop taking the fast and easy way and go inside sometime. It will change your mind on fast food forever.. Someone should send a secret shopper there soon, during the early afternoon hours to see for yourself. I guarantee you will see exactly what I'm speaking of. Thank you for your time and I hope this helps someone. And the owners can catch this mess and remove those responsible out...
Read moreThis morning at 7:50 am 11/2/2018 at store located at 15110 Beck Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170 I ordered 2 burritos and 2 hash browns, I went paid and after I paid I realized i didn’t get a receipt a co-worker asked can I stop at McDonald for him so as a favor I did. When the Manager in a Light Blue shirt Caucasian lady gave me my food I asked her for a receipt she told me to pull up its going to take a few mins. I say a few mins sorry I don’t have a few mins can you just grab it really quick. She said if I don’t pull up she was going to call the Police on me and proceeds to take her phone out. I asked why you are calling the police she says I should have asked for it when I was at the previous window.
With the climate of police interactions with minorities in this country to tell me she is going to call the police, for me asking for my receipt is totally wrong and unacceptable. All I wanted was a receipt. I was going to wait till the police showed up but that would have made me...
