British Beer Company — Restaurant in Plymouth

This place is a little weird, but always have good beer. The other BBC's are pretty nice places, this One is like a classic dive bar.

It's right off the main street in Plymouth, with a public parking lot right next to it, so it's a really great location. Place to just kind of dive. Furniture is pretty beat up, you definitely have your regulars who take up most of the bar downstairs, the place is tiny and darkly lit.

But like I said good beer, sometimes you just got to wait a little while for the one bartender, who always seems to be same person working, to have time to serve you because they spends so much time catering and talking to the regulars.

As much as I usually like sitting at an actual bar, here I like to go upstairs whether it's like a little sitting room up a spiral staircase. That you still have games and a couch and more comfortable stuff up there but now it's just a couple hard chairs. That might have changed because of covid and maybe they just haven't changed it back yet. The downstairs is just really small and it's usually really full. They often have rugby matches playing which is really nice. But it gets really busy and cramps when...

So I run a local restaurant and the bbc is a pretty well known watering hole for us local industry guys. Sunday night they're suppose to stay open till midnight, there advertised hours, as usual on Sunday 11/23/24 I'm not sure who it was behind the bar but I walk in at 8:17pm coming off a straight 31 hours I'm the kitchen and get told they did last call already cause the bartender has been there since "6:30am". Not open till like noon. You can't possibly be serious. 31 hours straight and we stayed open and the bartender couldn't do 14? 10 on an open? Never have I ever had anything bad to say about this place, I love it!! Not your bar, not your business not to mention how highly unethical closing before advertised hours is. Not to mention the loss of profit in the hundreds...

I was there just to have a drink. Took 45 mins to get a beer I never got. I was told by “female manger” to leave. The female manager that said she was the CEO/owner then called the Plymouth police because she did not like that I was going to post a negative review. Had two “bouncer” walk me out too. As I was sitting in my car …when the 4 officer and the supervisor came up to me cause that said I was disrespectful and disorderly. But they shortly found out the truth. I was let go.
