I don’t usually post reviews but had to make an exception because of how much we enjoyed our experience at Anejo last night. We’ve been really looking forward to Anejo’s opening for months and wow did it exceed our expectations in every way! My wife and I put our name in on a busy Saturday night around 545 and were given a 90min wait estimate. Which was expected for being a brand new restaurant on a Saturday nice summer evening in Plymouth. We went across the street for a cocktail while we waited. Then our friends arrived and around 645 I got a text that our table was ready.
The whole restaurant atmosphere first off is really beautiful. Love all of the decor and overall vibe. We got lucky and ended up getting seated on the patio, which was an added bonus that I wasn’t anticipating for a busy Saturday night.
Our waiter and all of the staff were super nice and welcoming. They really had their whole operations down pat. The wife and I ordered margaritas, coconut for her and guava jalapeño for me. They were top notch and came in a large margarita glass. Usually restaurants serve margaritas in smaller glasses so I appreciated the quantity with their glass selection.
We had guacamole which was nice, maybe just a touch more salt and acid to elevate it a bit more. The salsa was delicious. We started with the shrimp ceviche appetizer which was very fresh and tasty. And the tamales were fantastic.
I had 3 tacos - mahi, Baja (fried fish), and the pollo taco. All were amazing. Loved the Baja taco. My wife had the enchiladas which were super flavorful. We didn’t save room for dessert but will be back again sometime soon to work our way through the menu!
This is a fantastic addition to the Plymouth community! The whole experience was a 10/10! Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Anejo and congratulations on your opening. Welcome...
Read moreIn a recent trip/stay in Plymouth, I decided to treat myself to dinner at Añejo since I had been to there Falmouth and Hyannis location and had enjoyed it so much. Upon entering the hostess sat me and my friend at a table near the entrance. It was a cold night, so I requested a table further from the door, perhaps a booth. After being paced on a wait list and waiting 15 minutes we were sat a a small table for 2: and when I say small, I mean very small. My friend and I both ordered the same meal, I indicated I wanted my steak medium rare, more on the rare side if possible, my friend ordered hers' medium. When the meals arrived, her steak was more the medium rare as it still had some pink, and mine was medium well and, my plate was missing the tortillas which I had to inform the server about.
After making several cuts into the steak to ensure it just wasn't the ends of the steak that were well done, I realized my steak was fully prepared wrong. I informed my server, whom apologies and sent it back to the kitchen to have another one done. The manager did come over and apologized for the steak not being made correctly and made us to more drinks while I waited for my meal to come out. By the time I got my meal back, my side order of refried beans were cold but at the least was made correctly this time. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the restaurant as I had been to their other 2 locations and never had as many issues go wrong with my meal. Despite being comped for the drinks, it is this dinners experience that when you are a recognized staple in the community, and the kitchen messes up the most expensive meal in the restaurant, one would expect more and 2...
