We stopped on a cloudy, dank, late afternoon and Dillions hit the spot. Warm, cozy & friendly were all the feelings we got here. Small bar/pub with a few booths, a few high tops and a few seats at the bar. I like walking into a nice local feeling pub and not get the stares from staff and patrons alike as you walk through the door, like “who are these strangers “. In fact it was just the opposite. Our greeter/server Emily G greeted us with a vey warm smile and friendliness. It was crowded with a few parties waiting (limited inside waiting area) and Emily informed us it would be about 30 minutes. We were in no rush so we decided to stay. While waiting we started chatting with a nice couple from Mashpee who had been to Dillion several times. So not as to waste some down time we began asking about what they liked on the menu. Seeing that they recommended several items it was still going to be a tough decision. We were called in about 20 minutes and it’s always nice to get seated a little before you anticipated. As I said Emily was our greeter, hostess and was now waiting on us. We began to joke about that and her gregarious personality even came through more. She was an absolute delight and is made for working with the public. Since it was right in between lunch and dinner we decided to get a meal as opposed to a sandwich and make it our big meal of the day. I had the Bourbon steak tips with green beans and fries. Fries were requested crispy and they were, steak was requested medium and it was medium to medium rare. The green beans were cooked nicely( I don’t really like a hard green bean and these were not that) and sautéed with something that gave them a nice flavor. The Mrs had a chicken pot pie. She said it was good but that it contained shredded chicken as opposed to chunks of chicken which she prefers, but that she did like it. As I said we were in no rush so I decided to have some decafe coffee after my meal and Emily was more than happy to brew me a fresh pot. We enjoyed our experience and meals at Dillions and will likely return some day, as I saw many things on the menu I would like to try. Emily G is a credit to her profession and to Dillion’s. Be forewarned it is a small cozy pub so I would imagine wait times could be a while at busier hours than when we were there and there is a very small parking lot with on street paid parking...
Read moreDillion's is a smaller established bar restaurant that seats just under 50 patrons. A little difficult to find so pay attention to your GPS but if you pass it just continue to the roadary aka roundabout and take a 360 back. Parking is somewhat limited as there are other businesses sharing the lot of the establishment, but if you're a little familiar with downtown Pymouth, you also know there is plenty of pay parking just look for the signs and walk. We opted the bar seats this evening. Barkeeper Matt, a cool quiet guy with lots to offer in historic and common day conversation once you settled in. He was quick to welcome us at this busy time of the evening; took our drinks order and after a bit our meal order. Dillion's had a couple hi-top tables and several booths and only a couple flat screen TVs in the bar area. The crowd this evening ranged in age, and everyone seemed happy in spirits. Our order Fried Brussel Sprouts, with truffle oil, & parmesan cheese. A House Salad, which consisted of spring mix, cucumber slices, chopped red onions, heirloom cherry tomatoes, carrots, croutons, we opted out of house dressing and added Ceasars instead.
Our main entrees Chicken Piccata was So delicious. An egg battered chicken, with an incredible lemon caper beurre blanc, portobello mushroom (I believe) risotto, & perfectly grilled asparagus. This was a delicious meal for two hungry travelers. Thank...
Read moreI was curious about Dillons local after seeing a poll on the Plymouth Facebook page that had it as one of the town favorites. To put it simply, they were right. Without a doubt I ate the best chicken piccata I have ever had. I honestly struggle for words to describe how much I enjoyed it, but I would recommend it to anyone. My husband got the bacon jam burger. It was perfectly cooked and the bacon jam really put it over the top. My son got the shepherds pie and sweet potato fries which he enjoyed. I also tried a couple bites and I'll probably be finishing it off as leftovers- it was just that good! The prices are very reasonable- like I told my husband, we've spent more money on far worse food. We also finished off with the Bourbon Pecan bread pudding. Bread pudding is one of our favorite desserts and we've tried practically every one in the area. This was the second best bread pudding I've ever had. The sauce was sticky and sweet, it had perfectly caramelized. The pecans were a great texture element. The next time we have it we agreed we'll ask if they can make it a lá mode for us just because it would be a perfect finishing touch. All in all, a 5 star experience I can see us returning to over...
