I will preface this review by saying that I personally, have never been to The Fox and Pantry. My wife has. She enjoyed the atmosphere, and even bought a small dress for our little daughter. Before buying it my wife called me to make sure it was okay because it was a little pricey for a dress for an 11-month old, but she wanted to use it for our daughter's one-year birthday party. She also had told me that the owner had stopped her while she was shopping and talked with her. She said the owner was really nice. In fact, while checking out the owner said she would make a little smash cake for our daughter's first birthday! How sweet! We just needed to make sure to call the week of to arrange details for pick-up. Well, fast forward to earlier this week and my wife called over to them and was told to owner was not around or available to speak so they took a message. No issues yet. Fast forward another 48 hours and we still hadn't heard from anyone, so my wife called again. Yet again we were informed that the owner was not around and they took another message. Fast forward another 24 hours, my wife called again. I'm sure you can guess where this is going. "Oh, she's not around. Can I take a message?" No one on staff except the owner seems to have any idea of this smash cake. At this point we're pretty discouraged as our daughter's first birthday party is 24 hours out, so my wife tries to call them one more time (actually FOUR more times) but each call results in a voicemail.
The atmosphere might be good. The dress we got is super cute. The food, pastries, etc. might all be wonderful. But to promise a family that you would make a smash cake for their daughter's first birthday and then not follow through with it and to not even communicate at all with the family is really, really disappointing. My wife is bummed. I'm frustrated. Thankfully, our daughter is only turning one and has no idea what any of this means and could care less about a smash cake. But, c'mon, Fox and Pantry...get it together. This was...

Whether it is a buttery smooth organic latte, a locally-sourced bite or a carefully crafted cocktail, you will find all that and more at The Fox and Pantry! An unparalleled and unimpeachable dining experience in the western suburbs -- at an independent, woman-owned business!
Now the TLDR: I hosted my friend's baby shower here this weekend and it was over-the-top magnificent! Kym (the owner of Fox and Pantry) and her team went above and beyond, anticipating and addressing every possible need and detail I could have ever hoped for! The room was absolutely gorgeous! My guests simply could not stop looking and complementing the comfort and ambience of the space.
We had dedicated wait staff, the owner gave us TONS of personal attention, ensuring every single item from food to drink was impeccably created and served. The F&P Team even helped us write down each baby shower gift so everyone could simply sit back and enjoy.
On top of it all, Kym walked the entire group through the entire process of making macaroons and sent us all home with beautiful gift boxes of six of our own-made delights as a reminder of a beautiful day together. Those macaroons did not last the night they were sooo++ good! Hands-down the best event experience I have ever had!
Even more, this is the kind of place that makes a city the envy of all the towns around it! Kym has created a community heart. One of those places where people love to gather and come back to again-and-again! We had guests driving in from more than two hours away in central Wisconsin, as well as Minneapolis, Saint Paul and around the Twin Cities for this baby shower and as they were heading home, so many remarked how much they wished they had such a beautiful place like this in their community!
Strong, strong, strong recommend! Do yourself a favor and plan your next event at The...
Read moreI was in the area and wanted to stop to work a little bit before heading home. There are two sets of doors you can enter in from I didn't realize. I entered the coffee shop side, the other end has a bar. When I entered it was approximately 4:40ish. The staff was busy chatting with each other and didn't bother greeting me. I didn't realize they had nice merchandise as well as being a coffee/bar cafe. I kept looking and facing the staff, but no greeting still. Then I proceeded to ask if they were open. The bakery area was empty and everything was being wrapped up and put away on the other side of the counter. I proceeded to give them another chance and told them that it was my first time visiting the place. Nothing. Not even a "welcome" or "how can I help you". I was direct and told them that I would have appreciated them to greet me when I walked in or even when I was going to order something. I was questioning whether or not I would try the coffee or even buy the items I had selected. I was disappointed to say the least. I asked about the food and I would have spent more money, but they were so disinterested and indifferent. I didn't get anything with my mocha. I felt like leaving, but I wanted to give this place a try. It's a cute space and love the esthetics and vibe, but the staff needs to be better about service. Service overall wasn't great when it came to hospitality. Mocha options was cool to see, but it wasn't very chocolatey for a milk chocolate mocha. I gave it a 3 star for the lack of service and the not so chocolate mocha. I would have tried more, but if you read this review you'd understand my hesitance. Pro is seating space, options (drinks/food/merchandise), hours...
