Wasn't going to post a review but after going to someone else and realizing how my extensions should have gone, I've changed my mind. Multiple issues with my one and only appointment here. Lack of communication being the biggest. Before having extensions put in, I had a consultation and we agreed on pricing and talked through what would be done. Come the day of my appointment, the price was doubled and all a sudden I needed more than was originally discussed. The stylist said she went ahead and ordered me more, even though I had not agreed to buy more. I paid in advanced for the first set, so I knew they didn't carry them in store and that they had to be shipped in, so I felt this is something she should have confirmed with me that I wanted before she went ahead and ordered them. We had communicated through messages before my consultation, so I didn't understand why there was no communication before I came back for my actual appointment. I went through with it because I really wanted it done and for it to look good. When it was time to have my extensions moved up, I tried reaching out because I was told I'd have a discount to have them moved up in the future because of the hair stylists mistake in telling me the wrong info on how much I needed during the consultation (she offered the discount, I did not ask for one), but she never answered me back. I could see that she read my message though. Super unprofessional to just stop responding and not go through with what you offered to do. Since then I've had to find a different stylist and have them moved up and I learned how uncomfortable they were put in the first time is not how it was the second time. The next stylist put them in differently and they feel way better and still look just as good if not better. As a male who is looking to get a haircut I would not reccomend this place. Avoid Marissa at all costs, she gave me the worst haircut I have ever had by far without a doubt. I wouldn’t wish this haircut upon my worst enemy. Ngl she should have her barber license revoked and should never pick up a pair of scissors again, I pray nobody else has to endure what I went through. It was uneven, had no layers or distinction and she cut off way more hair than I wanted even though I explained exactly what I wanted. Appointment last 15 mins and only 10 was dedicated to cutting hair. At the end she asked if I wanted to change anything else and I said no because there was nothing to change, the damage had already been done😔🙏. Crying on the inside knowing all the kids at school would call me chopped and cooked I double clicked my phone and paid the 44$. I called my girlfriend to show her my hair and she cried. After my bank account and hair was flushed down the drain I was left in sorrow. Leaving extremely unsatisfied I was in search of a refund. It’s really fascinating how upfront and the salon as a whole has nothing to do with there barbers there all “self employed”. I contacted marrisa about the haircut and when I simply criticized it and explained why I wanted a refund she started trying to guilt trip me and play the victim. After back and forth back and forth conversation she concluded that I must schedule another appointment, bring a parent, and talk about what we can fix. Here’s the amazing part there’s nothing to be fixed, it’s beyond repair. Moreover no refund would be given. At the end of the day the victim, I lost all my hair and got scammed out of 44$. Amelia is so wonderful! I needed a color correction and a cut. I came in with a bleached and shadow root hairstyle, I was very unhappy about. It was very helpful having a section on the appointment notes to explain how my hair looked coming in, because then I knew I could express why I was frustrated and disappointed with my previous stylist's work (from an outside company).

Amelia greeted me warmly and immediately reviewed with me my previous experience and what my goals were for the appointment. I actually felt listened to and respected. She was very transparent on expectations, due to the damage the previous stylist had done, and was very upfront about the pricing and cost including the time for the appointment. She also stated that because of how my hair was, it may be more a project and we may need to do things in stages, I understood and was glad with the honesty. She made sure I was aware of the total cost before she even washed my hair. I felt that I was a valued client and she checked in during the whole process while walking me through what and why we were doing things. The correction did not initially take, but Amelia kept me calm and said: "Okay I still have another plan." She further explained what chemically and scientifically was happening and why.
