Aromas del Peru — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

Let me start with the Food and Drink: My girlfriend got the salmon a la macho which is a Mish mash of mussels, shrimp, salmon, and a big tiger shrimp to finish it all off with a complex red cream sauce. She paired it with a passion fruit piscojito which is a mojito but with a special liquor from Peru. Came served with a dry ice cube which was well worth the price due to the way it looked spooky and delicious to boot.

I got the lomo saltado medium rare which had perfectly been cooked along with the fries and rice it was served with. High end places I’ve been to like to coat everything in butter to up the savory factor, but this was balanced and very tasty. I had a coffee cocktail (which I forgot the name of at this time) there that looked like it came from outer space and genuinely was one of the best coffee cocktails I’ve ever had. If you like White Russian cocktails and don’t mind treading a little outside of the comfort zone this is the drink to get here.

Eduardo had amazing recommendations for us and was incredibly patient and accommodating. Service was quick and the plates were removed as soon as they had come. All in all the meal couldn’t have been longer than 45 minutes, though the place wasn’t very busy (for some reason!?) At the time. As soon as you sit down you get some nice fried corn (maiz) with a delicious creamy Ahi pepper salsa.

Atmosphere is immaculately clean and inviting, there is an alpaca plushie at the front door to say hello to as soon as you walk in the door. Typical Latin pop hits were playing on the speakers with artists like Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, etc.

I’ve never left a review like this and I travel all over the U.S. eating at a lot of high end restaurants. That alone should tell you it’s worth it to come.

Great place for a date night and I’m not sure how it looks like on a Friday night as we came on a Sunday evening but my girlfriend and I will definitely be coming back before we have to leave FL.

The moment you step into Aromas, the vibe is inviting and genuine, offering a vibrant snapshot of Peruvian culture. The service was impressive, with the staff displaying promptness and affability, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I ventured for the Tacu Tacu con Lomo, a popular Peruvian dish. Although the preparation was commendable, it lacked that extraordinary touch I've experienced elsewhere. However, the portion was generous and the flavors, satisfying.

The drinks, particularly the tropical michelada, were decent but not remarkable. A little more authenticity could elevate the experience here.

However, the star of my meal was undoubtedly the 4 Leches dessert. It was a creamy, dreamy delight that danced around the palate and had me savoring every spoonful.

The main drawback was the pricing. The cost of the meal felt steep, particularly for the Tacu Tacu con Lomo. A more balanced price point could enhance the appeal for regular dining.

Today I dined with my family, a party of eight, for what was supposed to be a pleasant evening together. Unfortunately, the experience left us deeply dissatisfied and concerned for my father's health. Despite making it explicitly clear that my father has a severe shellfish allergy, after taking a few bites of his plate we realized his dish, the lomo saltado had crab legs. This negligence put his life at risk, as consuming even a trace of shellfish could have had dire consequences. The discovery of crab legs in his plate was not only shocking but also potentially life-threatening. What was even more disappointing was the lack of responsibility taken by the staff. Not a single apology was offered, nor was there any acknowledgment of the gravity of the situation. Instead, we were left to deal with the aftermath of rushing my father out of the restaurant as he was feeling unwell. It's deeply concerning that such a serious mistake could occur in a restaurant that should prioritize the safety and well-being of its patrons. The lack of care shown by the staff was unacceptable, and the fact that no gesture of goodwill, such as a discount or even a sincere apology, was made only adds to our disappointment.
