My lovely mother was the youngest of 11 children, and my grandparents migrated from Italy in the early 1900s. I’ve spent two months every summer in Naples, Italy with friends and family.
The Rossitto family hails from Sicily and Puglia, spanning the southern region of Italy.
Shifting gears, I want to tell you that Rossitto’s is one of the few ways to experience true Italy here on American soil.
This family-run restaurant and grocery store epitomizes high-end quality. Their offerings are to be appreciated by those who truly understand Italian cuisine.
Forget everything you know about cold cuts, Boar's Head, and other American brands. Italian meats are a different experience altogether, and Rossitto’s serves them up beautifully.
Not to mention, their shelves are stocked with incredible high-end pastas and Italian delicacies.
Arriving at Rossitto’s at 6 PM for dinner is like walking into an Italian café on a tiny side street, experiencing the true European Italian ambiance.
This family embodies Italian culture and heritage, passing it down to their American counterparts in the community with love and pleasure.
They genuinely enjoy sharing their knowledge with the people who frequent their restaurant and grocery store.
Rossitto’s is the true epitome of what an Italian market and bistro should be.
The lovely lady in this post is actually the owner. I watched her make my sandwich with a level of love that could only come from a European Italian. She placed every single piece of meat and cheese on the bread in a way that provided the perfect flavor profile.
You really have to see it to appreciate it. This is not like going to Publix and ordering cold cuts.
When you order sliced meat from Italy, it is laid out in a way that can only be appreciated when you see them do it. It’s a whole different world.
In closing, I would recommend Rossitto’s to any Italian American in Broward County. Keep in mind they also serve incredible pasta dishes, using the finest pasta from Naples.
It’s like walking into an Italian bistro in a medieval city in Italy.
I urge any European Italian or Italian American who wants to experience the best of Italy right here in Pompano Beach to visit Rossitto’s! Once experienced, you will be hooked!
Rossitto’s truly enjoys sharing their Italian heritage with the community. Beautiful people. We need more people and businesses like them in our community.
And don’t forget to enjoy the espresso and pastries while you wait or after dinner.

Read moreThis is a great mom and pop place with amazing quality and taste. I stumbled across this place on a bike ride and had it on my mind to give it a try. Well a couple of months later, I was finally able to do just that.
From the moment we sat down, we were treated like valued customers (the benefit of not going to a franchise or larger places). Several people smiled and made us feel at home.
After a few minutes we were brought hot bread which was crusted in sesame seeds - something a little unusual for an Italian place as I was expecting a homemade foccacia type of bread. But the bread was good and it was certainly not the "usual"
We ordered a glass of wine and a couple of entrees and finished with a dessert and a cup of coffee.
The entrees were delicious and well sized - as you know many places with "shrinkflation" have managed to kind of keep the prices down but the portions have really become small. Not here - the portion sizes are larger than most Italian places at comparable prices. Each of the entrees came with a salad which was quite good for an "inclusive" salad versus having to order it a la carte.
For my entree I had the tagliatelle with salmon - I am always nervous when I order pasta that is sautéed with cooked salmon because I feel like its gonna be overcooked and they will use the tail part of the fish - which is NOT what happened here. While the pasta was very hot and delicious they somehow managed to cook the salmon perfectly. Very impressed. The pasta you could tell was homemade with the authentic chew to it.
For dessert I had the pistachio ricotta cheesecake - which I loved the texture and the flavor. I didn't care for the pistachio cream on the side as it was way too sugary - I would probably just opt for the plain cheesecake next time.
Overall, this is a MUST TRY. Great ambiance, great service and the chef clearly takes pride in the food that is being served.
The only recommendation I would make is to perhaps offer a couple of more vegetarian choices as those options were a little slim....maybe even just a simply penne past with mushrooms, peppers and onions in a arrabiata sauce or...
Read moreRossitto's Italian Gourmet Market & Eatery, by far is the Best Restaurant in Pompano Beach for Authentic Italian Cuisine. I have to say, I can't get over how everything on the menu is outstanding. I am shocked that I am just now finding out about this hidden gem in Pompano. I had the opportunity of visiting Rossito's for a family gathering. The food the service and everything I tasted was out of this world. The owner's did an outstanding job catering to our large party that kept growing. We had so much fun and I think we ordered almost the entire menu when we were done ordering. Despite having such a large party to accommodate, the entire Rosssito's Team made us feel at home. I had the opportunity to have various pasta, salad, pizza, and wine. Everything was scrumptious and delicious. The presentation of the food was outstanding. The desserts are in a class all their own. If you want unique, authentic delicious desserts that will make your guests swoon, I suggest you place an order for an assorted dessert tray. The pastry Chef at Rossitto's is really in a class of her own. Her desserts are decadent and also delicious. At the end of our wonderful meal, we were able to purchase items from their market to take home. Their market has items imported from Italy that are truly unique. If you want to try something truly special and amazing, I suggest you try Rossitto's Italian Gourmet Market and Eatery in Pompano. I am so delighted that I found Rositto's. I look forward to going back again for lunch next time. Simply amazing and a great...
