Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Ponca City

Please read why Braums should have a rating of zero. I ordered two meals from Braums takeout window. I did receive half my order, so rating should reflect 2.5 stars. Wait though, I have also paid double for my one meal, so yes Im being fair, as that brings star rating down to zero. Please read on as to why Braums will get another negative review after this one. I ordered biscuits and gravy/pancakes and strawberries for hubby and myself. I was told they can't put strawberries on the pancakes. I asked to purchase a small bowl of strawberries, but they are unable to put strawberries in a bowl and sell them to me. I dont understand because Braums sells strawberries. Braums has strawberries for sundaes. I have ordered pancakes and strawberries from Braums before, and I will pay extra for them. But sadly Braums states they cannot put strawberries on pancakes at this location. I dont understand what the location has do with it. Perhaps Ponca City has laws against selling fruit with pancakes. I wonder if I could order a strawberry sunday with no ice cream? So then I get home with breakfast and it turns out I didnt need the strawberries! Because I have no pancakes. Wait though, my receipt shows I purchased pancakes, and I got butter and syrup. And biscuits with gravy on them plus an additional bowl of gravy? See, that just goes to show you Braums can put food in bowls and make people happy! So I now have 5 pats of butter, tons of syrup, and a bowl of gravy. Since the biscuits have enough gravy on them I didnt need the freebie bowl of gravy. Now the problem is that hubby wants to know where his biscuits and gravy are. I told him Braums forgot half our order. So if you read neg review about inept service from braums because he didnt get biscuits and gravy...

This location just can’t get it right, ever… Visit #1 Used the drive thru, ordered a bag of burgers. Was asked to pull up. We pulled up and waited almost 15 minutes. My husband went in and asked what’s the hold up. The workers sat our bag on the counter inside and completely forgot about it. Husband said he’s informing the manager, a girl delivering food dropped it on the floor. I hope it was replaced before serving. Visit #2 Went in to redeem a free frozen yogurt coupon my son had received from school. The younger boy that was helping us brought a cone with ice cream melting over and said, “the ice cream was left out too long and melted. Is this okay or do I need to make a new one?” He hesitantly made a new one. I honestly think he wasn’t sure what he was doing. He was a sweet kid. Visit #3 Used drive thru ordered a burger and a shake they asked to upsize from small to medium so we did. Pulled up to the window and they had made it a small so they were fixing that error. We noticed they made it a combo with fries without asking. We also did not receive the fries until asking about it.

We are always asked to pull up even if we are the only ones in the drive thru.

The store has a wonderful older gentleman that works the register. Too bad he can run the fast food side, too! He was a delight and I’d recommend keeping him for the sake of the store. Employee of the year, a raise, whatever it is he needs recognized for his lovely...

Braum's is a solid, reliable choice that lands squarely in the 'average' range, earning it three stars. The ice cream itself is often the highlight—creamy, with a wide variety of flavors, and certainly a step up from typical fast-food soft serve. The quality of their dairy is consistently good. However, the non-dairy aspects of the store are just okay, with one incredible exception. Their fast-food menu's cornerstone, the burgers, are truly exceptional. They are thick, juicy, and taste incredibly fresh, standing out as a high-quality diner-style burger that blows typical fast-food offerings out of the water. This stellar burger, along with the excellent dairy, is often worth the trip alone. Service, unfortunately, can be quite inconsistent; sometimes it's quick and friendly, and other times the wait is long, especially when ordering from the drive-thru or counter. It's a great place to stop for a scoop or to grab milk and eggs, and for a surprisingly high-quality burger, but expectations for their other fast-food items should...
