Slate Eatery — Restaurant in Pontiac

Hey EVRYONE IN THE AREA! I just moved in actually across the street from Slate. Gave it a try. Absolutely on target! I chose the chicken special. those specials are not on the menu. so when you call ask "What are the Specials?". i chose mashed potatoes over the rice. REAL potatoes. Mashed and done just enough to leave the chucks! Gosh thats the way to do potatoes. Chicken was EXCELLENT!. Salad was as well. They don't skimp on anything!!! Ever order a carry out and the container falls apart before you get it home. I again live across the street. the containers they serve for carry out are the MAX. i did not use my plates but ate right out of the container. Hell you could probably reuse them! They are of that quality. Bottom line... ya want good food and get it home safe....then Go Slate!. If your like me you go to a spot you have went to before and get it home and something is missing or it just tastes like...do i toss or try to eat it? When i went there last weekend i ordered come chicken tenders and fries and the owners son slammed it on the table when he came to serve it to me. He then proceeded to talk bad about me and my family in albanian not knowing that i speak it fluently. The younger more good looking son was very nice and apologized to me and offered to comp my meal. This restaurant blows all of the other comparable restaurants in the area out of the water! Coffee at most restaurants that serve breakfast tastes like it was brewed with cardboard. The coffee here is excellent. The food is great. The owners are very friendly and attentive.
