I order from the Captain's Table today through doordash. After about 25 minutes of waiting I checked to see what the status of my order was. I've then discovered that my order was canceled. I immediately contact the Captain's Table to see if they were actually open. To my surprise they were open and it was brought to my attention that they've been open and taking orders since 12pm this afternoon December 9th 2018. I then call doordash and spoke with Jerry cope. I informed the doordash operator that Captain's Table is open and been taking orders since they've been open. Then I asked why was my order really canceled. The operator from doordash just kept quoting the email that was sent to me saying that my order was cancelled by Captain's Table which was... untrue! After disconnecting from doordash I contacted Captain's Table for a second time and informed them of the information that was verbally given to me. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone told his manager what was going on. The manager then replied that doordash never called the restaurant at all that day. I don't know who's lying or why but now I'm sitting here at my job on a 12-hour shift with a low blood sugar. I can't eat where I want to eat at or at the time I should be eating. Friendly customer service around Pontiac is very hit and miss, so when I try eating somewhere fresh and am treated like my presence and business is valued/wanted I have to give some kudos. They were also patient and took time to go over the menu with me and recommended a few of their favorites.
The food: Great prices, portions, and presentation. They make their own sauces and the breading they use for fish and chicken is also made in house, so instead of a reheated prebreaded chicken sandwich you're getting a fresh made to order sandwich. I also really like the boxes they used for the fries and sandwich since you can order takeout and ride a bike (or in my case a Onewheel) to pick it up without risking any of your food getting squished by the ride back. When I opened my food up after getting home it was clear the person making it put effort into making the sandwhich look good.
They have Pepsi products and only the only diet fountain drink is diet Pepsi, but they also have a handful of koolaid/juice machines. I prefer diet pop if I'm eating out somewhere, but I don't care for diet Pepsi. That's my...
Read moreI wanted to give a 0 star rating but I could not so I gave them a one star rating. I placed an order through the Too Good to go app this morning between 6-7 AM. And was told to pick up my order between 3 and 4 PM today. When I got there at 3:05, I was told that they needed 15 minutes to prepare the order. I went back outside to wait and 2 minutes later I get notification from the app that the restaurant canceled the order. When I went back inside to inquire as to what happened, the employees stated that it was the app and not the restaurant that canceled the order. By this time, it's 3:15, and I get an email from the app Stating that the restaurant has canceled my order. I showed this to the employees and again, they seem to not know what was going on. They blamed it on the manager. If they had canceled my order before I got there, I would have understood, but to send me outside to wait 15 minutes just to cancel the order is unacceptable.
