[[This review is more so based on the customer service from the woman in this establishment. The food is always good . But last night, not so much to what im used to. ]] Where do I start..... So I've been coming here for the past year and a half. I love Chazitos. Haven't had a bad experience uuntillast night. I'm a truck driver, so I usually call to place a takeout order before I arrive. When the short lady with the glasses answered the phone and realized I didn't speak Spanish, she instantly put me on hold. I was already 10 minutes away from the location. On the phone, I could hear her singing. Which isn't a big deal. I stayed on the phone all the way up till I got there. When I arrived, it wasn't busy. This was around 9:00 P.M....She asked if I was picking up or placeing an order, and in that moment, I can see the phone they used to take orders with on the side of the register with me still on the line. I wanted to school her so bad, but instead decided to leave a review because this is non-sense. I was on the line waiting for over 20 minutes . And while I was waiting , could see her singing and dancing in the back... that's no big issue . But remember, you're at work, lady. You have people the cater to. After I placed my order , I didn't know what the slow up was... I have never waited this long for my order. When observing the staff, I noticed that it was only the women back there. Usually, when I come in the daylight hours, the men are in the establishment as well. I watched them move at their own pace, suffling around ,talking and etc, as if they didn't have customers to attend too. I was even more frustrated when I was waiting there for a while , and a family of four came in, placed their order, waited, and got served before me . It made me start to think it was a favoritism thing because the family of four spent more money, and I wasn't from their culture. The cashier lady even saw the look on my face because she knew I caught on. Anyways after getting my food nd making it back to the truck. I can see that the pork wasn't marianeated and seasoned to how I always get it. So I figured thats why they were taking so long because they had to prep it . (Usually, in the daylight hours, it's pre seasoned and prepped ) , and it doesn't take long to prepare. Now , I proceeded to feast on this food . I noticed foil paper in my rice. I said DAMN, I'm definitely leaving a review today. "As for my side, I told them a salad, which always comes with lettuce, Tomatoes, and avocado and cheese. Tell me how the didn't put no tomatoes in my salad. That made me even more pissed. I can go on and on. Listen, Chazitos. The food is great, and i overstand that every day is not christmas... I love you guys.. but you guys need to do better. I prefer when the men are there because it's more structured, and BTW , e need some better portions when it comes onto the rice... please and thank you.

WARNING for those with food allergies! I visited on 4/18/2021 with my family from out of town and recommended Chazito’s as a top choice for Latin American food in the Savannah area. I raved about their macho yuca fries and carne frita, which I’ve enjoyed on previous visits. My sister, who has a severe shellfish/seafood allergy, ordered a boricua burrito with a beef empanada on the side. We found out that she received a shrimp empanada after she bit into it. Shortly after, her throat felt tingly and started to close up, and I notified our server she got the wrong empanada. My sister and I had to leave in the middle of our meal to drive to the nearest pharmacy to buy an antihistamine/allergy medicine. I understand mistakes can be made in a fast-paced environment, but food items with common allergens such as shellfish, tree nuts, etc should be clearly labeled and separated to avoid potentially harmful situations like this. I am hesitant on returning and will not be recommending this establishment due to its negligence on today’s visit. **EDIT 4/18/2021 1800: We received a replacement beef empanada after notifying the staff of the mixup and took it to-go since we received it towards the end of our meal. Just now, I bit into the empanada first as a precaution, and we received YET AGAIN another SHRIMP empanada. It appears as if the shrimp empanadas were mislabeled as beef empanadas. Extremely appalling and inexcusable.

Until today this was one of my favorite places for Latin food. I ordered a lot of food to go, no drinks. When I got home with the bag which they tied shut, inside the bottom container that was closed and had other containers on top of it so nothing was able to get into it before I opened it, had an older straw wrapper stuck to my crispy plantains and an old sucker stick without the sucker, under my rice in the container of “grandmas house” . So I had to throw all my food out 47$ worth of food. Basically my food container had trash in with the food. I ordered my food while at the location and sat and waited for my food. I’m not sure if this is a regular thing now or if it’s just my order that had trash in with the food, but I guess this comes off my list of favs. Diners beware. This was a visit where my fiancé had never had this place before, I talked them up and then found this stuff in my food. I didn’t contact them after for a refund, this review is 100% factual and I didn’t leave it to receive anything. I also did not ask for a refund after the fact. So you can rest assured this real. I am not in the food industry and I have no ill will. This was my fav Latin place until today. Just hoping I don’t get sick from the trash in my food. Check your food first to make sure there is no trash in it before you leave or eat it.

I normally try to stay positive since there is too much negativity these days but I can't on this one. It was not a good experience, This will be long and detailed. I do take into account one of their systems were down, it was raining and busy but at the same time one person working up front that can communicate with customers is not enough for dinner a crowd. We had to order from a kiosk in which people were lined up behind us and we felt rushed. I had never been there before so I had no clue what to order. No paper menu available to look at and the menu on their website was different and the prices had not been updated in a while with some prices being 3-4 dollars higher in restaurant vs online, usually the online prices are higher. When I did order I had to find someone who could understand me to talk to about the changes I wanted, I don't like things getting soggy so I requested the plantains be separate from the rest of the dish as I would of if I were getting tortilla chips for nachos, the meal was essentially that with plantains instead of chips. I also changed the sauce. It came out separate but was missing key ingredients like avocado. It was packed soon after we arrived so I just ate what came out. The sweet plantains were amazing but the green ones were not cooked all the way or overcooked they were so tough to chew and very hard to even pull apart by hand. Extremely chewy not crispy as the menu said. My friend has many food allergies including gluten, allergies that can send her to the hospital. We asked them not to put their seasoning on her meat because it has Ingredients she can't have, she has gotten the same exact meal off of their food truck and had really enjoyed it, this time it came out totally different the meat was not the same it had peppers and other seasonings on it that we're different from the food truck, along with it being a totally different cut/style of meat as well, even though she ordered from the food truck menu. They said they didn't put the seasoning on it but She had a reaction soon after starting to eat, so she couldn't finish eating. She had to buy a $3 bottle of water because they said they weren't allowed to serve tap water. It will be quite a while before I would try them...

Update: I visited them again today 5/4/24, and they never disappoint, I love this restaurant. Thank you for the delicious food, from the Boricua Burrito veggie, to the Loko mofongo,, the Loaded Loco fries of yuca, to the RI e and beans, the Maccaroni, the Fried avocados fries, the pana tostones, and the Pasteles and the Juan Pepe, the Mango, the hibiscus and The Mango Juice, la maltita India ect. and the great hand by the cooks Luisa and Yeyo, and the great service of Lina and Tiffany. Thank you Chazito, all of you again made a great dinner time for my son, my mom and me and even my husband and two kids when I brought them their food home.

Keep up the great work. May God continues blessing you all!!!

I visited them with my family today and can't say enough about this great restaurant and it's owner and staff, being greeted by the owner and he himself taking our order and servicing our table personally was super nice, the staff amazing, everyone so nice the environment amazing and the food. We really felt welcomed. Goodness gracious the food, SO So good and truly authentic to our island s food.

From their people to the food, the great menu the games, they even have Puertorrican briscas and dominoes ready for its customers to eat and play. Nothing better than the Puertorrican feeling inside and outside the restaurant, it's feeling like being back in our encgmhanted land, to the big sized games outside and seating for all to enjoy, and last but not least the live music of Venus Valensia at the beautiful terrace area. Couldn't be a better choice and I really recommend it. Go visit them you'll fall in love not only with the food but the environment and its service. Truly great!!! Congratulations on your grow and going international (yes people from all over visited them in the little while we enjoyed our visit) Que Dios les continue bendiciendo! Que alegria tener un restaurante tipico boricua en nuestra area. Thank uou for making our visit special and memorable 🌟

Always a nice visit, today was not the exception love the place, it's employees, environment and...
