My girlfriend and I decided to dine here for our anniversary, we have dined at Schlesinger's twice before, each time being thoroughly impressed. I'm sad to have to write that our most recent visit left us dissatisfied overall. I'll begin with the pros: the waitstaff was attentive and courteous as usual, my so's meal was delicious (I couldn't help but try a bite of everything), the dessert was wonderful. We had a black cherry cheesecake square as part of her three course restaurant week meal. The cheesecake was perfect; it was just the right size for two people and wasn't too rich. It had a nice texture with the added flavors of the black cherries 10/10 would recommend. Overall the service was good. Moving on to the cons, service itself was subpar, not bad by any means just lacking from what one would expect from fine dining. For example, our appetizer plates (bread plates) were not bussed until after our dessert touched the table. A few other small things stood out, but nothing that warrants explanation. On this visit I just wasn't sold on the fine dining experience I had enjoyed in the past. The final and most disappointing aspect of the meal was my entree. To preface, the dining room seemed to be about 75% capacity but the waitstaff didn't seem overwhelmed. It took about 25 minutes for our entrees to arrive which is totally acceptable. A manager even stopped by to let us know it would be just a few more minutes towards the end of our wait. I ordered the ribeye mid-rare and when our waitress asked me to confirm the temp, I found it to be a solid medium. I asked her what she honestly thought and she agreed with me. I said I would eat it but she insisted that I should have my steak how I ordered so I allowed her to take it back. At this point I assume that boh was just busy and let the ribeye rest under the lamps for too long. When the next steak comes out, a manager brings it by and asks me to confirm the temperature. It's absolutely rare but at this point my gf is halfway done with her meal so I just say it's fine and move on. Most likely the kitchen rushed the second misteak (haha). Our server later asks if it's okay but by then I'd had enough and just wanted to go home. I ate about a quarter of the steak and took the rest home. I've provided a picture of the undercooked steak. If I'm paying 50$ for a steak at a STEAKhouse, I expect to receive what I ordered. If you've gotten this far, thanks for reading. Don't let my review deter you from dining at Schlesinger's, as I said earlier our other two visits gave us the experience entirely worth the pricetag. Your mileage may vary.

I love the ambiance of THE SQUARE as a whole; so this fine dining brunch experience only added more LOVE. Reservations were made, as is customary & I couldn't WAIT to get inside and EAT!!!! The setup was elegant & more than I expected considering the average appearance of the outside of the restaurant. When my aunt said reservations were made, I was like "cool". However, as we approached, she mentioned something about a buffet... I immediately halted in my tracks. Reservations & buffet didn't go together in my book... But to my surprise... Live music. Linen napkins. Glass drinking glasses. It was a fine dining brunch, buffet-style. This was a first for me and I welcomed it with OPEN ARMS (& an oh so ready palate). A massive fruit tray, pastries, salmon & capers, quiche, brie, a potato & veggie dish, chef crafted omlettes, belgium waffles, PRIME RIB, poached eggs over English muffin, steamed broccoli, mahi mahi, just to name a few things greeted me as I rounded the corner to prepare my plate. And lest I mention the chocolate fountain, cheesecake platter, cakes upon cakes and desserts upon desserts... Ummmmm ummmmm ummmmm so good. I tried little portions of MOST THINGS and nothing disappointed. The bloody mary was delish, just the right amount of spice/flavor combo, but missing my OLIVES & CELERY, next time I'll inquire of their M.I.A. status. We chatted it up & managed to leave the restaurant all full and SASSY-FIED. This in one of my aunt's favorite places for brunch & I see why.

Dark and depressing… with good steak. Service was not good. It’s literally dark inside, the couple at the table next to us used the phone flashlight to read the menu. Seating is odd, no matter what your back is going to be pressed up against a wall. Wine was served in a cocktail glass. Cocktail was served with ice machine ice and was mediocre. Margarita has so little drink in it it was more like a Costco sample of what they could give you if they served a full sized drink. Plan on spending along time here. From seating to eating it was over an hour. Salads were fine, asparagus was bitter like they hadn’t been washed and the stems weren’t trimmed well - still had a lot of fibrous trunk, the Schlesinger’s potatoes were very much like dry boxed au gratin potatoes, we ordered a regular ribeye and a New York strip au poivre. They were cooked well and seasoned. Meal for two with three drinks and no desert with 18% tip (really wasn’t deserved) $212. Bon appetite.

NOT MY POST BUT FROM FACEBOOK AND I KNOW IT IS A TRUTHFUL EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I WENT WITH 2 OF MY CAUCASIAN FRIENDS AND I WAS SHOCKED AND THRISTY WAITING FOR MY DRINK I CANCELED MY FOOD OTHER BECAUSE I WAS A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT WHAT WOULD BE DONE. I STILL PAID FOR MY FRIENDS FOOD BECAUSE I DID INVITE THEM OUT. MY FRIENDS ACTUALLY SAID SOMETHING I WAS JUST EMBARRASSED AND REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO BE THAT ANGRY BLACK PERSON SO I KEPT QUIET. I EVEN LEFT A 50.00 TIP BECAUSE PPL STEREOTYPE WE DON'T TIP.I never do bad reviews. This is actually my 1st one, but the way Schlesinger's disrespected my client and I yesterday, I really have no choice. My client had reservations and once they arrived they still had to wait. Once we were seated in the private room, the server by the name of "Amanda" seemed to have some type of chip on her shoulder. She comes to the table and serves my client and his date.... And acts as if im not even there. Doesn't ask me if I want something to eat, or to drink. I thought I was tripping but then she proceeds to come back with their water and bottle... So I politely said ma'am, I would like some water too. She laughed it off. My clients ordered their food and a bottle. Simply trying to get a wine list and preferred wines seemed to be a task. Mind you last time my client hired me at this establishment ‼️ HE SPENT OVER $3000 ‼️ (Not including my professional photography services with PhartograPhii ) So money was no issue. So they finally are able to land on a wine bottle. Other people in the private room appeared to get more attentive service. So my client orders his food. Big ol expensive steak, expensive lamb chops, other sides and appetizers. We already had to wait a minute, never got offered a bread basket or anything. We all seem to notice an attitude or hesitation for some reason. The food ends up taking so long, and then on top of that the attitude, my clients decided to wait in the car for their food as I waited with the money for the bill that was over $300 (Would have been more, but the service wasn't telling us to stay.) Thet call me from outside and ask me to let them know when the food comes out. Why did it take 30 minutes for the food to come back, and in that entire 30 minutes she NEVER came back to the table? So I asked for a manager. The manager comes over and I tell her all of the above. She acknowledged it,and said she would replace her with another server... Howcome when the food comes out it's the SAME server with the SAME attitude and even the manager appears to brush us off. We get our food and bottle bagged up and prepared to leave. I give the manager a survey and asked if there would be any type of reconciliation... She says no and tells me to have a nice day. Mind you there was NO staff of color. Everyone else was getting service. It was not that busy. So with that being said WE DO NOT recommend this establishment. It was giving undertones of racism and favoritism, and we will NOT be back. We will go where our BLACK dollars are...
