Dang, who doesn't like a High Quality Donut?? I know I do! Up from South Padre Island for a getaway and was craving some donut action. The bakery has a line and they were bringing out fresh product while we waited. Kinda expensive but Joe did that. The fritters and cream filled are the 💣 B . Is this establishment as good as Top Donut in Fredericksburg?? ( Currently #1 ) Simple answer, No. Are we in the Texas Hill County? No. After extensive scientific research , These Donuts get 8 outa 10. Possibly even more since SPI aint got a Donut shop. Plotted. SCOUTS OUT.

The donuts are legit. The sausage rolls are better than I anticipated. Good enough to have two. Generally, I only eat one because they're not my style, but these were decent. I can only speak for the large sausage rolls with cheese and jalapeños. I prefer my sausage rolls made with real sausage which typically can only be found at czech/german style bakeries. Friendly and attentaive service. Get there early. I arrived at 6am on a Sunday and they we're already out or small regular sausage rolls. Extra points for not calling them sausage kolache.

Very much mid. Apple fritter could have been much better with spices and was kind of doughy, not very crunchy even in the edge. The jalapeño pig n blankets are marked with a very questionable obviously died green edible thing. The person working was very short with me and even after putting the pig n blanket in microwave was cold. Here’s what’s left

The donuts are "ok"- nothing great. Half were burned. But the kids love the kolaches (sausage type not the real polish pastry). We went there 3 days in a row for breakfast because my kiddos wanted to eat there. Day 1 was ok, old lady with bleach blonde hair behind the counter was a bit rude... Didn't let it phase me. Day 2-she got ruder! Day 3 I about let her have her damn donuts back via me throwing them at her! WORST SERVICE EVER! That old woman that works there, has the overly bleach blonde hair, wears old faded spandex and tshirts with 80's rock bands on them needs to go! We were the only customers in the place at 1030am and as I was putting my wallet away after paying she had the nerve to tell me with attitude "do you mind, move your stuff.... Can y'all please move!" ! I gave her my infamous redheaded "Kiss my ass" look. My children were right there trying to grab their bags of food that she JUST placed on the counter! How rude!! Mind you- my 3 children are very well behaved and were standing there quietly waiting for their food! No one else was around and she had nothing to do but be a rude, bitter old woman I guess... Told her she just sealed the deal- we won't be back. As we were leaving, another family walked in and she treated them just as bad. I've been visiting Port A for over 40 years! And I found the ONE place with bad service. Beware! Go someplace else for better donuts! It ain't worth the bag of attitude from the old bag working there. They made it clear they didn't appreciate our business for 3...

I've been visiting this island twice a year for the past 10 years and I've never seen these people before, they're not locals. The customer service was terrible, the cheap OLD woman with blonde hair behind the counter was very rude and seemed like she couldn't possibly careless about a positive experience. As it was my turn order, she stood there silent looking everywhere but at me, after a few seconds she had the nerve to clear her throat at me. Once I ordered, she grabbed a grease drenched bag of donut holes and handed them to me. My total was low, and I asked her politely if I could pay with my debit card to which she replied that she wouldn't accept such a low charge and demanded she be paid in cash. Both the inside and outside are not at all taken care of, the place is a tired old dump. The donuts and donut holes looked like they had been baked by an amateur. In the end, I threw them out, and went to a real donut shop. If you're visiting the island, DO NOT waste your time or money on these people, go to a real donut place that offers a welcoming family friendly environment. This IS NOT the place to take your kids...

Sent daughter in to get a dozen donuts this morning. She ended up picking out 14 so clerk suggested getting 4 more to get 1/2 dozen price, so she did. Total was over $43 and after she got back to the car she thought that was a little high. Menus says $20 a dozen, $10.50 for 1/2 dozen. Daughter went back in and clerk asked for receipt even though they had just left and were not even given a receipt. Got a total of 18 donuts. Clerk did admit to accidentally charging for a dozen donut holes that we did not get so gave daughter $2 back. It seems that we were charged for 2 dozen donuts when we only ordered and received 18....
