I walked into this bar in medical distress today....my service dog alerted me that my blood sugar levels were dangerously low and I was in danger of losing consciousness....I had immediately pulled over in order to try to find help. Upon my service dog leading me inside the bar...I was immediately told by the woman behind the bar that I could not be inside the bar without a shirt. I calmly explained that I needed to use the washroom....after I exited I asked the bartender is she had a chocolate bar, chocolate milk or anything with sugar....she replied "we are a dive bar and don't got any of that shit".....then said you have to move your truck right now! You can't park at the front.
After I went outside I put on a shirt and went back inside desperate to get something to level my insulin levels. I was told the only thing I could get was orange juice. I proceeded to buy a screwdriver and try to stay calm. After two minutes the bartender told me I could not sit in my seat as the owner of the bar would be mad that I was sitting in his chair and that I would need to immediately move or she would get in trouble.
I moved and proceeded to drink my drink....I stayed less than ten minutes until I felt well enough to stand. I decided to inform the bartender that I was experiencing insulin shock and that her ignorant belligerent attitude was not acceptable.
She proceeded to tell me " she was just doing her job...and that her owner would support how she acted....as she has service dogs entering the bar all the time....and it's no excuse for not following "the rules"
....I personally know the other bartender Jeff who always goes above and beyond for anyone that enters this bar!
I told the female bartender I will be contacting the owner...and I hope she loses her job.
.....her response was "good luck....I'll never get fired."
Awesome Bar....never had a problem....until today.
But this is seriously unacceptable behavior by any employee.
It will in turn sully the reputation...
