Port A Creamery — Restaurant in Port Aransas

Very mixed about this place, ice cream itself is at least 4 stars, I went yesterday & the service & ice cream was 5 starts but today about 30mins ago, waited maybe 20mins (which isn't an issue) but waiting that long anywhere you at least want your order right. The 2 girls serving both were trying to take my order (separate times walking up to me) I told both of them what I ordered (which I was ordering for my 2 little girls). They forgot 2 toppings and in my head (I wasn't going to say anything) as we went to the register my little girls said where's the whip cream and sprinkles, and I had just paid, I asked the girl at the register, hey is there anyway you could add it, and she took the cones turned like she was going to, gave me a look like she was irritated (maybe upset at something else) but in that moment I got some negative feedback in front of my girls and she turned back around and said well I am going to have to charge you for that with a little attitude unfortunately. & I said just forget about it, bc at that point I was uncomfortable & didn't want to hold the line bc the 2 girls didn't seem to have communication down and it was not like that yesterday when me and my family stopped by. We come to port a maybe once a year, & I was a bit upset at the outcome. Monday, April 10th 2023. I was on vacation in Port Aransas, so I was busy all day and evening. They closed at 10pm so I had a chance and went at 9pm. I guess the shop employee had cleaned up and was going to close early. It was my first time there and I didnt know they had custom shakes available and I was not told when I walked in, so feeling like I was an unwelcomed hassle, I ordered 1 regular chocolate shake and 1 regular strawberry shake. 2 one size fits all small cup shakes totaled $20.00!! I was shocked but still paid for them thinking they were going to be the greatest shakes but they were not. I got warm chocolate runny milk with melted runny whipped cream. Same with the strawberry shake. And I had to ask for the 2 cherries on top. I was so disappointed I wanted to go back for my $20 refund or at least $20 for the 2 customed shakes with all the works! Best Icecream Ever!!! We came here yesterday evening for ice cream and I must say this is the best decision in my life. They are so friendly and tell you their best flavors. Help you pick them. We were feeling chocolate yesterday so my husband had two scoops of triple chocolate icecream in waffle cone and I had one scoop of triple chocolate and one scoop of mocha almond fudge. I was in heaven. Every bite is delicious. It doesn’t make you overwhelmed with sweetness. It’s the right amount of sweet and chocolate and you will end up wanting more with every bite. I have never had that feeling with any ice cream. This was really good. They also have a small seating area inside and a beautiful outdoor seating area with games and fun for kids.
