My recent experience at this kite store was nothing short of disappointing. The range of kites they offered seemed to fall into two categories: cheaply made or outrageously overpriced. The low-quality kites were evident as soon as I examined them, with flimsy materials and shoddy craftsmanship that raised doubts about their durability even on a gentle breeze.
On the other end of the spectrum, the overpriced kites left me baffled. The exorbitant price tags attached to some of these kites were far from justified by their design or performance. It felt like a blatant attempt to exploit enthusiasts' passion for the hobby. The store's lack of a reasonable middle-ground left me feeling like I was navigating through a minefield of subpar kites and unjustifiable expenses. This store's blatant disregard for offering a decent range of quality kites at fair prices makes it an establishment I would strongly advise kite...
Read moreThe Great family friendly service from Jeremy and Courtney was as advertised! While you will pay the typical tourist prices. I do have to say, they had a vast variety of beach games and supplies, from projectiles to kites. They seem to have everything you would need for a fun filled beach vacation. They even had quality decoratively beach options. I don’t want to sell the store short, they have a lot of everything. We were looking for the new nylon shades canopies. They were well stocked with numerous color varieties and sizes. We also got a flag and flag pole you see in the below picture. They had a large variety of flags. I highly recommend stopping in this store! You may pay the additional 20% tourist prices, but this family run store carries quality products. I may be a cheapskate but their product quality was not cheap garbage! I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially if I had 10,000 dollars to...
Read moreFly It Port 'A is an EXPERIENCE you don't want to miss if you like kites even just a little bit, and Ralph is very kind & a wealth of knowledge re kite flying and beyond!!! I'm saddened that the store was lost in during hurricane Maria as it was packed with lots of treasures ...to say the least! I'm thrilled he's rebuilding cuz there's NO OTHER STORE LIKE FIPA!!! Unfortunately, the new store (May 2018) won't be open in time for the annual kite fest (Feb)on the island.
We spent at least four hours seeking treasures including an awesome dragon kite(#7, below). If you tug repeatedly on the dragons line it makes it appear like it's flapping it's wings & flying! Other pics below were taken at the AMAZING 2017 Port A Kite Fest & a peek...
