If South Carolina is considered one of the states with southern comfort and hospitality, this place misses the mark from the jump.

Upon entering, no greeting from the woman taking my order who clearly looked disgruntled. But first impressions are long lasting impressions.

Ordered a beaufort steak and cheese and honestly the steak wasn't steakin. It tasted more like beef stew. The bread wasn't toasted so the steak made the bread soggy.

The only good thing about my experience was my date aka my wife and the sweet tea.

Even with the food not being the best, I would have considered returning had the customer service been enjoyable. It was far from...

actually i cant rate the one in Port Royal SC,thats why i shouldnt give it any stars but on the other hand , i first couldnt believe in SC theres a Alvin Ords, i thought its just a name play and nothing related...but I looked and its the same logo the Monk holding the sandwich. I went to the original one in San Marcos Texas and going back to 1981 when I was at school there when it was Southwest Texas State U....top notch sandwich and fresh ingredients, The Salvation really is..but the magic really is in the original bread .....i still visit relatives every year and go straight to the Original location. so one day if i'm in Port Royal,SC i know now...

It is a good sandwich shop. Large selection. Don't cheat on quantity of ingredients. Choice of round wheat or French bread, homemade. Line can be long so is best to phone in order and eat there or take away. Worth trying. Went there again. Really good sandwich and filling, also pickles are worth buying one extra. I hate tipping counter workers. Went again, sandwich is excellent. Used credit card and it requested 20% tip, UGH! Bill was $28.00 without tip for 2 - small sandwiches, chips, and drink. Gosh! Not for seniors. Again, had large Pastramie sandwich with one chips and drink $28.00. Will get 6 meals out of this very large sandwich Good 👍. Will...
