Sweet Bunz — Restaurant in Port Saint Joe

I had a destination wedding in PSJ and hired Sweet Bunz to cater some desserts for the welcome dinner and for the wedding brunch. OMG! Every single guest bragged about everything they made. Kathy made her specialty cheesecake strawberry pudding, banana pudding for the welcome dinner. Everyone talked about it all week. It was absolutely delicious! On the wedding day we catered a brunch, they made red velvet donuts, glazed donuts, apple muffins with caramel drizzle omg this was amazing! Tiny bite size cinnamon bunz, donut holes, mini croissants. The donut holes OMG my family loved, they would eat 10-12 at a time, the best I have ever had, soft absolutely delicious! Kathy and her husband took my order and not only did they deliver, but they delivered with love, you can taste the freshness and the good ingredients used in everything they made! I live in South FL and I am already missing you guys! My taste buds are craving SWEET BUNZ! Wonderful people, wonderful desserts! Strongly recommend. The food here is good. But don't get coffee if you're a true coffee drinker. I ordered an iced latte, but what I got was flavored, sweet milk. After tasting how sweet it was, and how it had no espresso taste, I realized I couldn't smell espresso (the key ingredient in a latte). So I asked, who I assume is the owner and/or manager, if they used espresso. He said "no they use a cold brew." So when I explained that's not what I ordered, he said I had to get it hot then. I asked why? He responded, "You want me to pour the hot espresso over ice?" Yes! That's what an iced latte is by definition. He didn't appreciate me educating him tho apparently. And he did offer to make me a new one but was quite rude about it all, so I left. He also tried to play it off, saying he didn't make it. The young woman who did, I'm sure did as she was trained. Our group got up early to head to Weber's Donuts. We got there, stood in a long line, and after waiting 15 minutes had to leave because they were sold out. So, we drove down the road to Sweet Bunz. This coffee/donut/ice cream shop in the charming downtown of Port St. Joe is absolutely the sweetest! The staff is friendly and patient (some of us may have had a hard time deciding what donut to get!). This is a family-run place, and it was cool to see Dad and daughter working together...there was even a display of handmade bracelets for sale that were made by a younger daughter. Talk about precious...and take my money!

The donut/pastry selection was amazing! Favorites for our group were the apple fritter, the fruity pebbles donut, the raspberry filled donut, and the strawberry iced donut. The coffee selections were fun! Give one of their crazy concoctions a try. The next time we are in the area, we're going...
