During our recent visit to a charming wine tasting venue nestled near Portland's Pearl District, my companions and I opted to deviate from the customary wine tasting experience and instead splurged on a bottle of wine. Regrettably, our evening was marred by an unforeseen incident. Upon receiving the bill, we discovered that we were charged double the price advertised on the menu for the bottle of wine we had selected. Despite bringing this discrepancy to the attention of our server and highlighting that the menu clearly specified a price of $24, we were presented with a bill totaling $50. Was surprised to learn their complimentary Member tasting only includes a single pour of either entry level Chardonnay or Pinot Noir vs. different wines to compare --like every W Coast club I'm familiar with.
We each sampled a generous pour of Chard (too light and steely for my tastes) and purchased glasses of Rose (light, dry).
