Was interested to try this place out as it had a pretty large menu of vegan substitutions for traditional fried classics While obviously, I think I prefer fried chicken to fried tofu, I do have to say I was quite impressed here I got the Mr. Onion Fried Tofu Sandwich, and our table also ordered Jojos (potato wedges) Starting off with the wedges, I quite liked these. While they weren't as crispy as I would've wanted - I would say while some parts were, most of it was on the softer side - I did think that they were seasoned excellently. They also paired quite well with the mayo-based sauces we received. Moving onto the burger, I really enjoyed this. When I've had tofu on a burger in the past - it's usually been in smaller pieces - so getting such a massive piece that sticks out on either end of the burger was really nice. In addition, the breading was good - while not super-present. I quite liked the fact that it was very lightly breaded - meaning the huge patty was like 95% tofu - leaving the tofu to stand on its own as the majority of the bite. The buns were alright - I'm not big into vegan buns - but I didn't mind these The mustard sauce was also pretty good I will say, although I did order the Mr. Onion burger so I should've known what I was getting myself into, but there were just way too many onions on this burger. It was to the point where they absolutely dominated the taste of my first bite. I had to remove a lot of them from the bottom of the burger to actually make this edible. For the price, it is a bit expensive - but it's also quite filling so I didn't mind it. I also have to mention - because my burger was late, as a gift they brought out a full set of pastries/cookies in a box. This was incredibly surprising and something I’ve never seen another restaurant do. Major props for that Overall, probably the best tofu burger I've had. Great place for good vegan food. 9/10

I arrived a hair after the end of brunch and sat down at the bar. Trying my luck, I asked if it was still possible to get a brunch item. The bartender froze for a second, then grabbed a glass of the counter and smashed it against my temple. Before I could react, she kept over the counter and in the same motion grabbed my earlobe and jerked me to the ground. She then grabbed the stool I was sitting on, wheeled it behind her back and straight slammed it onto my forehead, smashing out several of my teeth. But I guess she wasn't done cause she then took one of the boiling coffee pots and poured it onto my face, cackling the entire time. At this point I was a bit confused as to why she reacted this way, but before I could get a word in, she dragged me by my (now shattered) right ankle, started to twirl me around in the air and let go, causing me to slam against the wall of liquor, landing on the pile of shattered glass bottles below. Once again she kept back over the bar, hovered over my face, and started spitting on me. Without looking, she grabbed the brunch menu, crumpled it up, and shoved it into my mouth followed by her using her heel to stomp on my throat. "IS THIS A GOOD ENOUGH BRUNCH FOR A DIRTY BOY LIKE YOU?" she shouted, flecks of spittle flying out as she shouted. So I decided to just order the "Vampires Hate Her" and it was pretty good.

Let me preface by saying how hard it is to newly navigate the world of Allergen Free foods at restaurants (not everyone in the family has allergies). After reviewing the menu, we skeptically decided to try it as it looked like there were good amount of options. And guess what? Jojo delivered. After speaking with chef Justin Hintze, he alleviated our fears and let us know that they take allergies seriously. Jojo has separate/dedicated allergen safe grills and fryers! Justin further stated that he wanted to make food that everyone could enjoy, taking allergies into consideration; which we really appreciated. Jojo took good care of us and chef Justin even came to check in with us to make sure everything was good. We genuinely felt cared for and were provided with excellent customer service. As for the Food, we loved it. Excellent portions, quality, food was hot and super tasty! Did I mention the food is freaking delicious??!! They really do have food options for everyone. Also, for those that want to know, the restaurant was spacious with a line up and order type of service akin to their food truck with seating indoor and outdoor. The decor felt hip and urban with a lot of energy. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Jojo. Thank you and we are coming back for more!

--- chicken sandwiches ---

❤️ Mr onion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ sweet with the smallest hint of spice we were told this was spicy, it was not the flavors mixed really well for this not super oniony

Spicy ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ not very spicy at all good if you like pickles not my favorite

❤️ Fried chicken melt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ my favorite chicken so far as a good default juicy, love the cheese, just feels like a classic doesnt come with a bun, is served on toast comforting

❤️ Vampire slayer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ good if you like garlic

❤️Mango habenero ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ spicy sweet and perfect not too much of a kick loved the crunch

Chicken types:

Fried ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ not salty or spicy, just plain tasting, what you'd typically expect has a great crunch to it while being juicy on the inside honestly perfect

Grilled ⭐⭐⭐⭐ has charred and burnt bits to it which I appreciate to give it that crunch, but might be off-putting to anyone that doesn't like burnt bits not rubbery, was juicy has a bit of a buffalo undertone in my opinion, but this was not tasted by others

--- smash burgers ---

❤️Mr onion ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ surprisingly loved this and wasn't expecting to because I know this place is known for its chicken a little bit spicier on the burger than the chicken sandwich super soft and juicy, super cheesy had a sweet and spicy taste to it my partner likes the fried chicken sandwich version of this more but I definitely like this one

Jojos burger ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ really loved the bread that was used, it wasnt a bun but it was normal sliced bread that was grilled perfectly not as sweet as the Mr onion but really good imagine a grilled cheese with meat inside

Spicy ⭐⭐⭐⭐ good if you like spicy food, the green chili sauce was actually spicy likely wouldn't order again, prefer the spicy chicken sandwich

--- Jojo's ---

Jojo's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ like the spices on it perfectly crispy perhaps a little salty at times, but the sauce cuts it

Spicy loaded jojo's ⭐⭐⭐✨ really cheesey and actually spicy doesn't have the same crunch as the normal jojo's though probably wouldn't reorder due to sogginess but really loved the spice, it was delicious and worth trying at least once

--- Salads ---

Coleslaw ⭐⭐⭐⭐ love that it wasn't heavy and overly creamy felt like an actual salad but shredded

Cruncher salad ⭐⭐⭐⭐ a little heavy on the dressing to me creamy and rich the ranch tastes different than just normal ranch, a little heavier and creamier, has a lot of dill in it the grilled chicken was really good with this - bc it has a little bit of a firey taste to it

--- Cocktails ---

❤️Club hopper ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ tastes like delicious orange juice, super fruity can't taste the alcohol love the color and the fruit on the rim

A slow death to the monarchy ⭐⭐⭐⭐ refreshing and fruity berry tasting can't taste the alcohol fizzy

Sex, drugs and lovejoy ⭐⭐✨ very alcohol forward could be for someone else, not for me very bitter

❤️The sun also rises ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ citrusy and floral refreshing make sure to mix it prefer the club hopper, but you can definitely drink this one faster

Sauces: Jojo sauce ⭐⭐⭐ Alabama white mustard ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sweet chili ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Service: as of today Feb 26, 2023, it looks like the overall set up has changed. There is someone closer to the door taking orders immediately and it looks like seating is just more difficult and almost seemed reservation / text based. It actually proved to be difficult to get a seat at 2pm. It was kind of strange relative to the other times I've been here. I thought it would been an off hour. There were several vacant tables but I think they were reserved for others or something! Was...

My eating experience began with me needing to break a $50 bill for a marketplace purchase a block away. It smelled really good when I walked in. The guy working the front desk happily gave me pretty much all of his cash in exchange for my $50 bill - normally, at any other restaurant with the small on hand cash available I'd have been told "sorry, I can't... Blah... Blah". Not here.

I decided I was hungry after buying what I was after so I returned.

I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It was $16, but the atmosphere told me it was worth it.

When I was about to pay (using the remaining cash I had received earlier) the kind dude at the front told me the kitchen was facing some challenges and it would be 30 min from order to food being delivered to my table. I was cool with that; nowhere to be.

I sat down and waited.

About 15 minutes later a server came over and asked if I was waiting for food. I replied in the affirmative and she proceeded to explain the 'kitchen challenges' I had heard about while ordering. I mentioned that I was aware, and it was ok. She then asked if I wanted a cookie on the house while I waited. Don't threaten me with a good time, lady I'll go right along with it. I chose the lemon poppyseed. It was delicious.

10 minutes later my chicken sandwich showed up and mah gawd, it looked amazing. The breading was fried to a thiccc, crispy perfection and whatever sauce they used in conjunction with the jalapenos was divine. Every bite was sensational and I experienced no diminishing returns through the entire eating experience. it's the best spicy chicken sandwich I've had... Ever. I've lived in 5 states and eaten pretty much any available chicken sandwiches while in my area. This one took the cake, and the cookie. Thanks for a great first experience! I...
