Pretty much one of the best ice creams I have ever had! I was part of a tour and we made a stop at this ice cream shop which was recommended by the tour guide. This is a take-out place only and they only have a bench outside for some patrons to sit. I had the two mini scoops (great idea) of chocolate a.f and hood strawberry. The chocolate ice cream (notwithstanding the expletives in the nameā¦lol) was ssooo rich and decadent. The hood strawberry had incredible fresh strawberry flavors. I like how simple and straightforward their menu options were. Some other ice cream store mix so many flavors into their ice cream that sometimes it is confusing on the taste buds. No problem with that here. They use high quality ingredients and keep it simple here. That is to me the hallmark of good ice cream, or for that matter any good food.
The tour guide informed us that while Salt & Straw is a more famous for ice creams in Portland, they have expanded too fast and were no longer that good. I donāt know about the history, but when we tasted Salt & Straw the next day, we hands down preferred Fifty Licks. We highly recommend Fifty Licks!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never really post reviews but this experience made me feel so uncomfortable. It was Saturday night, extremely busy and only two workers working. I was in front of a family and the workers skipped me and started giving the family all the samples that the kids were screaming for. The girl worker finally got my order and didnāt hear it fully and got it wrong, it was incredibly loud inside. As I was saying my order I felt like I had to apologize for inconveniencing her time, she was incredibly rude and kept rolling her eyes. No smile, no customer service skills what so ever. I get when itās busy you donāt want to deal with crazy kids, but I mean thatās the job. I eventually tell her the order is wrong and she ended up redoing it just to give me two wrong flavors again. She walked off after she handed it to me and did not say a word. I was so over it at this point. The ice cream was good though, just not the flavors I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFifty Licks Ice Cream, their flavors are inventive, vibrant, and full of personality. The Mango Sticky Rice is a standout-creamy, tropical, and perfectly reminiscent of the classic dessert with a delightful hint of sticky rice sweetness. The Coconut Lemon Saffron is a revelation: the smooth coconut base is brightened by zesty lemon and elevated with a subtle saffron twist that feels luxurious and unique. And of course, the Marionberry is everything you'd hope for in a local flavor-juicy, tangy, and bursting with the essence of Oregon's iconic berry.
The shop itself has a welcoming vibe, and the staff are always friendly and eager to help you explore their creative menu. If you're in Portland and love ice cream that's anything but ordinary, Fifty Licks is...
