We went into this bar at 1:30am hoping for one more drink to end the new year. Little did we know that the person tending the bar would be so incredibly rude. Two people from our group went up and asked for some champagne, and got a rude response back from the bartender that he would not serve them (for absolutely no reason). This was after he served another couple before them seconds before. The bartender then continued to pour drinks for other people at the bar. Another person from our group walked up and asked ‘could I possibly get some bubbly?’ and received a sharp response back from the same bartender that he was not going to serve her. He then glared and asked ‘do you have anymore questions?’ The girl was shocked and said back that she did not. The entire group then walked out of the bar, but on the way out the bartender was pointing and making rude comments about the group to the other customers sitting at the bar. This was the most upsetting end to the night and I would heavily advise that management takes care of this problem. I will not...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars, I would. Went there last night and I was told that they couldn’t serve me because my Spanish passport couldn’t be taken as a form of ID. They said that it needed to be a US issued passport or military ID, but what happens if you’re not American and you’re here just visiting? According to Oregon Law ‘Before selling or serving an alcoholic beverage to any person about whom there is any reasonable doubt of the person’s having reached 21 years of age, a licensee or permittee shall require the person to produce one of the following pieces of identification: (a)The person’s passport issued by the United States or a foreign government.’ But it wasn’t just that, the bartender was super rude and unwelcoming. I felt super uncomfortable and embarrassed, I wasn’t even ordering and alcoholic drink. This is the only place that has treated me this way, and I’ve been living in this city and neighborhood for 9 months. I see that they are willing to serve foreign food, but not...
Read moreI don't care if I feel super bougie every time I come here. I also don't care that the bartenders already recognize me. They're either really good at their jobs, or I am there too frequently. I'm gonna go with the first option, for my own sake. The food is good, I love the meat and cheeses! Also, can't go wrong with fries. The drinks are THE BEST. I love their boulivadier and sangria. Both are really delicious and satisfying too. Strong, in a good way. The bartenders are also super friendly, clever, and non pretentious, which I really appreciate. If you asked me my favorite bar in Portland, I would say it's this one. If you don't have plans tonight, make some at the Solo Club. You won't regret it!! (well, you might if you end up spending wayyyy too much cause you're having an amazing time and forgot that money and finances were a thing) but it'll sort of be worth it and you'll be...
