I was just recently this location with my family earlier today. We have been going there for over a year now and always had an overall really good experience up until today. I was there with my family and my daughter wanted a cookie, I told her ok since she had eaten her lunch. My daughter is 3 years old and has a speech impediment so I try to encourage her to ask for things so she can work her way towards being more confident with her speech. She rang the bell and a worker came storming from the back and literally snatched the bell right from my daughter. I told him what is your issue, you don't do that to little kids. He replied we have been here since 930 am and don't want to hear the bell. I responded either way she is 3 years old and your a grown adult, you don't behave like that with kids especially the way you just did. He told me if I didn't like it I can leave. I went to get my things together then walked back to try and speak to a manager. Everyone ignored me and he told me to leave the premises that we're not wanted there and if we don't leave he will call the police. I told him call the police for what, what did I do wrong? I told the other workers there you guys are ok with that happening to a little kid? Everyone ignored me. I told my family let's go, we're never coming back here. So my question is,is this kind of behavior acceptable and condoned at your establishment? Is this how you treat other human beings especially in this situation a 3 year old child with a speech impediment? Those actions I witnessed today were appalling and disgusting. Do yourself a favor ESPECIALLY if you have a family, DO...
Read moreSell, sell, sell! Five stars for the food and usual service. Extremely lame employees last night! I was hoping for a mushroom pesto slice which wasn't out. There was little to choose from. I got a cheese slice and sat outside, but I was still hungry after eating it. They weren't gonna make mushroom pesto for single slices, so I asked which size was the best deal for a whole one. They kept trying to force me to read the menu. I have an Autism diagnosis. There is a lot of extra information on menus, and I expected since they work there, they would tell which is the best deal instead of leave me to fish through things or attempt to make calculations. A big guy told me to get the large, which he said was $32. When I said I'd get the small, the guy said no, because I, "couldn't read the menu." Ask if I left with a bad taste in my mouth... I miss the smiley girl who is usually there! And now, I'm not done! I was a server in 5 states. I believe I just tipped 25% to carry a cheese slice to...
Read moreOn the plus side, as far as pizza goes, Hot Lips is about as healthy as you can get. They go over and above on using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients.
They unfortunately go overboard on trying to come up with creative or "hipster" flavour combinations. If you're into that sort of thing, then you'll be happy, I'm more a traditionalist, so pretty much all of their daily specials suck in my opinion.
As for the "traditional flavours" they're meh. Better than some competitors that sell by the slice, worse than others.
They're also not cheap, but getting a cheap slice is a thing of the past these days. It's not worth trying their own brand of sodas, it is worth trying their meatball sub. One of the better ones in town.
This location is in the Ecotrust bldg right off the streetcar and near Jamieson Fountain, good if you want to feed your kids something close, and not totally...
