To the concerned person of India palace restaurant, we a group of 14 traveling down to NY from Bar Harbor in Maine searched far and wide for a spot to dine in at on our way back home from a beautiful mini vacation we had in the state of Maine. We found you guys online and I was quick to make a phone call to announce our arrival in advance. The person who attended the call made it clear that only 12 would be allowed and i had no problem with that, we were more than ready to have two of us in our vehicle while others dined but still to test our luck all 14 came up to your restaurant to give it a last try. Two of us walk in leaving the rest out just to talk about it, the guy at the counter straight away said no to it which is very much acceptable but when i said fine i will have two sit in car and rest 12 are gonna come in he refused to that too, like he didnt want us there at all. I understood he wasn't gonna let any of us in, so again i asked him if he could allow at least 6 of us in so that they could dine and take out for the rest of us which he blatantly refused. Now its totally within your rights to refuse service to anyone you want, but we weren't the type of customers you should have dealt with that way. We came in famished looking for some decent food and to have kicked for no apparent reason is the epitome of bad customer service. I assume you have kicked out your ethical values along with your customers here. This is not an attempt to defame you but genuine disbelief in your lack to provide a proper service to...
Read moreI don't usually take a lot of time to write reviews unless I go somewhere and it's amazing and I have to write a review or if it's so bad that I'm irritated about the money I spent- and also not wanting other people to waste their time and money going to the same place. Hopefully when somebody writes a negative review, the company looks at those reviews and does something to change it..
I ordered chicken curry (and I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants) and usually at Indian restaurants, the chicken curry is kind of similar to the last place. This Curry, however, was so watery, it was like soup. It made me nauseous also.. My friend ordered the same thing and he was not happy either.. only he didn't get nauseous right away- upon waking up though, he had stomach problems. I wish I took a picture- the chicken was dry, the curry was like water, and it did not taste like Indian curry- it was a light colored yellow and did not have spices in it that every other Indian food place puts in there Curry. I'm just irritated that I spent almost $50 here when I could've went somewhere else and actually enjoyed what ...
Read moreWow. Im so pleasantly full and happy. Someone had recommended this place on a local Facebook page. Apparently they are under new ownership. I ordere on 2 Dine In & was blown away by how good the food is. We are regulars at TAJ (we did not care for hi Bombay or tandoor when we had them) and I have to say that it's honestly going to be close. The Paneer pakora was so flavorful. You could tell they didn't just coat it in plain chickpea flour. There are def spices involved. The chicken tikka app was incredibly moist and flavorful and didn't burn my face off. That is a must have. Butter chicken was straight fire. I would say it's in the top tier of butter chicken I've had. The saag paneer was delicious as well. It looks like they grill the paneer before going into the saag which was a nice touch. Rice was cooked perfectly. Chef's kiss, baby!! We just got home from London and have been craving Indian. The price is right here as well. Definitely go...
