I'm sure many people like this bar, I'm not saying they're wrong but for me this place fell short on a street where there are a lot of great bar options. First off, there's a lot going on at this bar- Grecian statues, techno lights, tropical fish tanks sporting UV lights, trap music, a huge fountain taking up a large part of the outdoor patio, and The Sopranos being projected on big screens. Each of these things can be great on their own but packed together like they are at Moloko made for a discombobulated atmosphere. Some people clearly like it- the place was packed on a Thursday- but it made for a disquieting experience for me. I've seen some reviews describe the bar as a wannabe club space, I think that's a good description (and perfect for those seeking this type of atmosphere). The drinks list had some good options but the drinks we ordered tasted so watered down we couldn't tell which drinks were which (sure, we could have asked, but it should be pretty straight forward to tell the difference between a cocktail with tequila in it and one with gin in it). For this reason, the drinks felt over priced. The one toilet was pretty disgusting- low lights made it hard to see the urine left on the toilet seat and across the floor, and there was no hook upon which to hang a coat or bag so I had to put my coat on an empty counter space- a dicey proposition in such an unclean restroom. Only some of the heaters on the back patio were working (not ideal for visiting in winter like we did) and while it's well covered, the space doesn't do a great job at filtering out cigarette smoke so it can get quite smelly. This place does have good service, the guy at the bar was super welcoming, attentive and friendly, and was quick to fulfill orders. If you're college age and looking for a place to get rowdy on a weekend, you'll probably have a really nice time. On the other hand, if you're after a more relaxing place to drink and hang with friends then I'd suggest exploring other...
Read moreMy husband and I ADORE this place. Wonderfully crafted and well kept aquariums designed to visually stimulate you as you sip an equally well crafted cocktail. It’s a little slice of aquatic heaven! Until recently had never been in past 8p much less on Saturday and it was bumpin’. Made it difficult to have conversations especially as a group. The bartender seemed extremely moody that night and offered my sister and law a spectrum of patron’s debit/credit cards to choose from when she was ready to close her tab. Not sure if that’s a regular thing he does but either way between the loud music and cheeky, irresponsible service it’s put me off from going back for awhile. I still love the place and will continue to recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind a clubby atmosphere- just not my...
Read moreI don’t like leaving bad reviews, I’d rather just move on and find somewhere else if the service isn’t great. However the bartender here seemed to actively dislike us, maybe because we’re from the uk? Not sure but the service was terrible, and despite tipping and being courteous to our server, he still just seemed very out out that he had to serve us, to the point where we felt uncomfortable asking for another drink. It’s a shame because the bar itself is lovely, maybe we just caught him in a bad day, but even when we said thank you as we were leaving he just ignored us. By all means check it out for yourself, but we didn’t have a good time and couldn’t wait to try somewhere else along the strip, I’d recommended you...
