This is my favorite place in Portland to work. Emily and April are way friendlier than they have any right to be first thing in the morning. Also, the coffee is great — definitely recommend the cardamom dirty chai — and the baked goods are awesome. I usually get a cheddar jalapeño scone and/or an everything galette. And they give treats to your pups when you bring them in. Awesome spot all around.

Good enough coffee, but expensive. Not sure I want to pay $6 (before tip) for a simple drink (16 Oz cup with ice, milk, espresso, vanilla). If it's iced for the same price, shift the cup size up one so I'm not paying for half a cup of ice. If it's something that requires barista skill and/or extra time (good milk foam, presentation, straight espresso, americano) that's a different story.

This place is one of my Favs, I love going here to sit in the old skoo style bolted stool chairs at the front coffee bar. Every staff member is amazing, you might even catch the owner helping out with a huge smile laid across the face. Great place, great vibes, great people, and amazing Hot Chocolate and Hot Chocolate Chip Cookies. ✊🏾💪🏾🙌🏾. Gordos The Guide

My oatmilk latte was divine! It was the first coffee beverage I've had out in decades that was worth leaving my house for! I love that there was a decent assortment of GF treats to choose from. I went with gf raspberry coffee cake (yum) and tasted my friend's gd tahini tangerine one (he loved it, I thought it tasted doughy/yuck.) There was also a great selection of dairy alternatives to choose from - decadent. Oat can be the creamier one but they also had hemp which is also quite yum (imo). Out of ALL the cafes in the Mississippi/Albina/Killingworth area - this one has been here the longest (like back before there was anything much else but Mississippi Pizza, empty retail spaces, the lamp lady, drug dealing/using and drive-bys) and I like the space of The Fresh Pot itself A LOT! I seem to remember the wood floors being more ancient and almost sloping. I wanted to connect with the history/warmth of those floors when I decided to seek this place out on a Saturday afternoon in January. I enjoyed sitting at the bar. The Cafe tables (all taken) were pressed against the far wall within inches of each other. We guessed it was to keep the public as far from the person working as possible? The front door was open and it was comfortable temperature inside. I'm assuming this arrangement is covid-based. 5 stars for me would require more plants, large paintings, more tables, less crammed - maybe a record player? I loved the vintage plates and classic Cafe cups for...

The person at the window seemed a bit unhinged this morning- I just dont love being yelled at or bossed around without at least a little politeness. There was nobody in line after me- no real pressure - and yet the cashier was shouting orders with military urgency. I suppose this is an infrastructure problem - the order window is confusing and you have to stand in front of the part with no protective glass to speak so they can hear you.. so it’s really covid’s fault and the whole situation is frustrating for everyone- i just would hope that would make people patient and kinder to each other not the opposite

The low stars come because of the aforementioned rudeness and the fact that coffee isnt my favorite around- but im not a big fan of the sour light roasts - they burn easy and have pumpkin overtones- the location is convenient but I think I’ll take the extra time and go elsewhere...

I came into the shop for the second time, genuinely excited to share what I remembered as the best coffee I’ve ever had. I brought my girlfriend along, hoping to give her the same great experience I had the first time. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into disappointment.

From the moment we walked in, we were met with unnecessary rudeness from both baristas. Their snarky, sarcastic attitudes—especially about our drink choices—were completely uncalled for. To make matters worse, the coffee was nothing like what I had before. It was poorly made and honestly undrinkable.

I don't know what changed or why we were treated that way, but it was a deeply disappointing experience. I won’t...
