This is the second time I’ve visited this location, but I will not be back after this time. The first time was very pleasant; my drink was tasty, I got some work done, and the staff was very understanding about me and my service dog’s situation—which is that we are displaced and transient after Hurricane Helene last year. We have been relying, throughout the country, to have a place to enjoy some time and escape the hot weather, (while using the app and loving the bonus stars system) and instead of me seeking out local coffee places that allows service dogs, Starbucks has been that flagship for us since we were uprooted from our previous home. So it was very alarming, this time, at this location only, to have a seemingly-manager type person named Agatha, wait until I had my well-behaved service dog settled with his dog bed, having my book out of my backpack, about to enjoy a nice time out of the hot sun, and already having paid for my drink (which ended up being charged and made wrong…but that was a graceful misunderstanding compared to Agatha’s demeanor with me as a paying and loyal customer) when manager Agatha came from out of the back, without any context, or asking me whether my dog is a service dog or not (which he is), and told me that they were “…so sorry, but I can’t have you with your dog in here.” I proceeded to let them know about our situation and how I had been welcomed in here before with my service dog, and we rely on coming inside to Starbucks locations to escape the heat in the afternoons since we don’t have a home anymore, and I did this in the most calm way I could’ve possibly done, which thankfully didn’t cause a major disruption. I have worked in many restaurants before, and served as a lead barista for over a year; I have seen a lot of manager-types that take any opportunity they can to exercise any new amount of authority they are allowed to wield, and in this case, at this location, Agatha made wrongful assumptions about my service dog and didn’t adhere to the policy that Starbucks has with certified service dogs nationwide, and made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe for relaxation at this location, and after I had already paid for my drink. I am least glad that Starbucks is able to provide great drinks and service elsewhere. As an aside, barista Ollie was very compassionate and understanding in all of this, and he seems like a very hard worker, so he should be...

They invented bags for a reason 😔.
I get it this isn't exactly the Starbucks you actually want to go to, but it's open early and open later than the others.
I still prefer the one on 15th at whole foods and of course the one at the airport which is godspeed good 😊 , GREAT ATMOSPHERE & WORTH THE TRIP!
You also get better service during the evenings at this location at MLK Vs. mornings.
This is also the first time that I had somebody's fingerprints literally in my eggs and I wish I was joking but I'm not 😂
I even tried going back a second time to see if they would still give me used napkins and yep sure did👍
I know the economy is bad but could I at least get some brand new napkins, you know ... like they're flat not all scrunched up and probably used.
I mean last time I checked part of the reason why you go out is to go and get a good experience in nice presentation of what you're giving and this literally did not meet that Mark. If that's the case I can just microwave something.
It's a little bit weird but when I tipped him with cash he seemed kind of confused 🤔
I guess that doesn't happen here very often, and I understand why.
They do offer delivery and I highly recommend you take advantage of that. And I'm not sure if the motorhome is a permanent fixture in the parking lot but yeah you know...
Now I just want to be clear the drinks that they make are excellent and I've never had one problem with it. But unless you spent a lot of time in San Francisco, it will fall well under your standards we are so used to in the Pacific Northwest.
Also be careful when you actually go into the facility with your car because there's a huge pothole entering the place. TESLA & LOW-PROFILE RIMS...
Read moreUpdate: 09/13/25 Lately I've been ordering my coffee in so I can read and relax a bit before shopping at Safeway across the street. One really big thing that bothers for me is this location really caters to the drive-thru clientele rather than dine in. The instore space allows for only two tables for ADA compliance and counter sitting for the remainder of the interior which is cramped at best.
With that being said, one of the two tables is usually occupied by a Starbucks' employee/manager working on employee scheduling and inventory ordering.
In my opinion, Starbucks employees should not occupy half of all available ADA seating to do routine business and regulate customers to sit in cramped, jostled high stools in a high foot traffic area within the store.
OP: Great service, friendly staff and always good coffee regardless of your taste. One of the few Starbucks in the area that has drive-thru window service. Which is a particularly great option with the ongoing and ever changing pandemic restrictions for indoor dining ans retail services. I always see a lot of taxi and police cruisers utilizing the drive-thru window for a quick cup of Joe...
