I was in on 12/6/21 at 12:10pm. I ordered a french dip with "Tri Tip" got back to work to eat and they used turkey... I bring it back and who I believe was the owner was friendly about it said they would make me something else as they were out of the Tri Tip... So instead I order the mushroom swiss burger with a chicken patty and tator tots. when it was done i checked my order and asked the bartender for a side of ketchup she then rolls her eyes at me and said oh my god and goes back to the kitchen and i could hear her talking negative about me with the cook before they both start laughing seeing as im the one who was apparently inconveniencing them... when I did go to eat my chicken sandwich the patty was obviously previously frozen and so chewy it was inedible and the mushrooms were the canned variety and cold on top of a freshly made order. At this point I didnt have the time to return it and tried to just eat the over cooked unsalted tator tots but after just going through all of that really had no appetite left and disposed the majority of the food. I used to eat here atleast once a week but won't be back tell there is new staff. I've never been disrespected like that at a food...
Read moreI have lived in North Portland for 24 years and I have frequented this establishment maybe a dozen times and its always so clean and inviting The staff is fantastic and the food is simply amazing. I have always wanted to try their home made meatloaf but since I am out of town on Thursday evenings I have never had a chance to enjoy the experience. I stopped in this afternoon and heard they often have left over meatloaf so I asked if they had any left and they did and I asked if I could get a hot meatloaf sandwich for lunch. I swear it was the best thing I have ever eaten. Owners and come and went from this establishment but the owners that are there now are seriously doing something right. What a great place over-all....
Read moreWe went here on the recommendation of a gal we met in another tavern. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the bartender, Mel. She brought us our beer and menus, and we asked about the fried chicken. It was fantastic and came with a side. We chose mashed potatoes with a brown gravy. Yum! It also came with a salad, and I was going to go with Bleu Cheese until I heard the Ranch was homemade. The Ranch was amazing, too. We talked to a local couple seated next to us and later to a guy on the other side. Everyone was having a good time and friendly. We will he back for Mel, fried chicken, ice cold beer, and random, good people. Props to the cook, who I think they said was Paulie....
