The General Chicken is supposed to be spicy and garlicky. This tasted exactly like sweet and sour chicken. So much so that I called them and was told the sauce should be brown. So I walked back and had them take a look to make sure the order was right. They said it was. So my review of the general chicken is it's way too sweet and a weird color. And soggy. I prefer mine to be crispy. It's a decent value if you just want calories. $12.50 gets you a box full of soggy chicken pieces, some rice, and some broccoli.

Ate there 30 years ago food was great, not so much anymore. I had a combination plate pork Chow mein, fried rice, egg foo young and sweet and sour chicken. The Chow mein smelled like the vegetables had soured. Is there fermented cabbage in it? The sweet and sour chicken had long shards of hard chicken. Like everything else in Portland the place has gone down hill. I don't like leaving bad reviews but hopefully it will save someone some grief. Never going back.

This bar looks sooooo sketch from the outside but it is absolutely great inside. There were plenty of video lottery machines and the place was super clean and not crowded. The bartender was super friendly and every looked up how to make a drink for me and my friend! Will be returning.

So this restaurant has been around for ever my father grandparents would eat and drink here I used to love coming to the bar to play video lottery and drink but the monday-friday bartender that works now is insanley out of line, rude and disrespectful completely invaded our privacy like I said we come almost every day and play video lottery so we came played video lottery lost some money and both decided to use the bathroom before we left we were in the bathroom no longer than 5 minutes when she starts pounding in the door yelling it's time to go and so we both respond with no problem almost done mind you it's 30 minutes before closing and then says I'm getting the key and coming in right now and boom she opens the door on the single use bathroom and walks in yelling it's time to go... So I of course I comply I get out and go straight into the restaurant to talk to the owner and she comes in yelling it's time to go won't let me talk to the owner then locks the doors behind us as we leave locking other paying customers out before closing time this was insane will not be spending a dime there while this bartender is working she is unfriendly in general rude and will ignore you if she is having a bad day don't recommend if your going to come go on the weekend when the amazing...

One time about 5 years ago my friend Rie were talking about restaurants in St John's. He asked who eats at the wishing well anyway? We both raised our hands, sort of hesitantly and said we do! This place looks like a dive. Broken Neon. Old building. A rowdy crowd. But let me tell you when you're hungry at 11 at night or really anytime during the day, and you want to eat some good food, this is the place. Excellent Chinese food. Try the War Wonton soup. A big bowl. You will not be disappointed. Great Chow Mein and fried rice. And the short ribs and sweet and sour sauce, you will savor every little morsel. And when you get ready to pay, your wallet will thank you too. So don't let the appearance fool you. If you go on Friday or Saturday evening you can expect the rowdy crowd in the bar. Most most all day and early in the week evening times are best for those seeking quiet enjoyment. But trust me you will like the food if you like Chinese...

Terrible! I have had bad Chinese food before but this was actually inedible. After over looking all the grease and mustering up the nerve to take a bite I was immediately disgusted. This food was fried in old burnt grease which I could taste instantly. The chicken was old and dry with the texture of overcooked rubber. The fried shrimp had the same burnt oil taste and smelled like old fish. I had to spit it out the moment it hit my mouth because the smell and taste combined assaulted my natural gag reflex. Please do not eat here. I honestly believe if the food quality is this poor, then the sanitary conditions must be a threat to their customers health. Absolutely should not be serving food to the public. Please do...
