Seriously folks. For a dive bar setting the bar tender was super nice and friendly as well as accommodating. She was already helping out some of the regulars and dealing with a POS that was on the fritz. Without even turning around she sensed my presence and assured me that she would be right with me. Half of the taps were being cleaned so I chose a hazy IPA instead of first choice. It was not too busy when I sat down with my pint. The kitchen got an order and I soon began to smell the awesomeness and got hungry. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it did not disappoint! The burger was perfectly cut and portioned with condiments enough to accompany a burger of such stature. The fries were made in house with a natural cut and cooked to perfection. I had a great conversation with the cook regarding his obvious love for what he does. Needless to say that I will be returning to this joint when I am on this side of town.

We were looking for a bar with good food that was different than our usual places like Holman's. Ranger tavern fit the bill. Don't let the exterior put you off. This place is a gem. We walked into a football watching party comprised of locals with their bags of chips and homemade dips in their personal Tupperware™ containers. So, much friendly sports chatted the entire time. It was a big "living room on New Year's Day" vibe. The food was great. Hand cut fries and a bacon cheese burger. Home style burger on a squishy bun with a light crust. Perfect bar burger. Table service was quick and very friendly. Not to mention the awesome corner booth in the back. I highly recommend this place! Great neighborhood local semi-dive bar.

The food wasn't edible. Between the burnt biscuits, half cooked eggs, and rancid tasting gravy, I lost my appetite to the point I vomited 🤢 the waitress/bartender was so unprofessional and flat out rude I just put a napkin over my plate and left. 2 people sit down to eat. She brought us one roll of silverware and snapped at us for asking for a second roll. One of us ordered a burger with soup, and the other was a full breakfast. Silverware was absolutely necessary. She asked us what we needed a second set for and went on to complain that silverware was limited and it was just making more work for her. I had already tipped her $2 on my $3 Sierra mist. Her attitude was uncalled for. Severely disappointed in this visit.

AVOID THIS PLACE AND ANGIE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Angie is the WORST bartender I've ever come across and she should be FIRED. She's extorting customers and overcharging menu prices so she can skim the money off the top and take it home.

I was charged more than the menu price for the "tachos". They were $14 instead of $10.50. When I asked Angie, the bartender about it, she said it was 3 dollars extra because there was ground beef on them. The menu clearly says $10.50 for the tachos with ground beef. The menu says it only charges extra for plant based meat and chicken.

I wanted to double check with a manager to see if there was a mistake and called at 5:00 pm today asking for a manager. Angie kept trying to avoid my questions when I tried to get information on when I could get ahold of him. She told me "he comes in during the mornings". When I asked what time "mornings" meant, she hung up.

UPDATE: Went back the next day. Ordered the French dip and was yet again overcharged. I walked in with 2 coworkers, didn't say a word and paid my bill. When we were handed our receipt, my coworker (a regular who orders food almost everyday) didn't give a tip. Angie goes up to him and says "Oh you don't want to leave a tip? You're just going to come here everyday and not tip?

And if being overcharged wasn't enough to prompt me to not tip, her passive aggressive comment sure was. I of course, was not going to tip a condescending, entitled bartenders attitude like that.

When I left the bar, she told my coworkers that I was AND I QUOTE a "Rude ###hole" who didn't say anything and didn't tip. She said she was going to kick me out if I hadn't left when I did. Like really?? Because I sat down, paid my tab, and left, I'm an "###hole"?? Like seriously...

Angie: "Oh wow, you're just going to come in here and pay for your food without asking me about my day?"

That's what I pictured when given the news about what my coworkers told me.

Let's backup a second. At that point when you're willing to kick someone out for not being charitable to your liking, that tip no longer becomes a tip. It's extortion. Angie must receive a tip, or you can't receive any service despite her rude behavior and her overcharging.
