I love this place! I live near by and come in a couple times per month. I can’t believe it’s not packed all the time, because it should be!
Food is flavorful with generous portions. I know prices look high but you get two full meals out of it you’re standard hungry. I’m a big bulgolgi person but every time I’ve wandered into other options I’m always happy. The kimchi slaps.
Service is always sweet and prompt. A woman who works here has a baby with her sometimes who is just the cutest thing alive. Servers are attentive and give you space. The ordering system is interesting, but if you’re more on the anxious side, it gives you time to review your options without needing to interact much with the staff, which I appreciate.
The interior is clean and has a nice modern and relaxing design. I would love to see more plants! The food is always presented very nicely on pretty trays.
Y’all need to pack this place for real. Otherwise I’m keeping all the melon soda to myself and you’re going to have to...
Read moreI’m so happy that this cute new spot opened in Portland! You can tell that the owner and chef has spent a lot of time curating both the menu and the decor. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere exuded clean and fresh - this translates over to the food as well! Fun little fact is Yuginong means organic in Korean, and it’s exciting to have a healthier/whole food approach to Korean food in Portland. I tried the gochu-garu salmon and the ghan-jang beef and the flavors on both were perfectly balanced.
The tender salmon had a beautiful sear and the caramelization of the sauce on the outside is incredible.
The beef was cooked perfectly and so juicy! It was my first time having mint butter and the subtle addition enhanced the beef flavor well.
My only regret was that I ate my food before I realized I didn’t take a picture! You will not be disappointed with the food at Yuginong and I will...
Read moreWe stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. There are tablets set up to order and pay which makes picking what you want quick and easy. We got a little bit of everything: the edamame with mint butter, the cheesy corn, the salmon, and the teriyaki chicken. We were surprised how much food it was because we didn't think we'd be able to eat at all but we did! The entrees come with miso soup and kimchi and another yummy condiment. We were offered thier corn tea, gratis, which was really good! I'm originally from the Midwest and consider myself corn aficionado and really enjoyed the tea. The whole meal was fantastic. Everything was spiced well and tasted good. The staff were friendly. I definitely want to make myself a regular...
