The Slow Burn Lounge is an excellent getaway from the busy day and dreary atmosphere of today's cities. The speakeasy entrance and basement locale immediately make you forget what's going on in your life. The bar has hints of blue and faint lighting to accompany and exquisitely decorated wood bar and the high back chairs for booths provide a level of privacy while not shutting you out. The members lounge is comfortable and you don't feel like you're being neglected by the bartenders, and the TV allows you to watch sports or listen to music and create your own environment. As with any location you are paying for a certain atmosphere and here you get the smoke, the smell of old America in Old Fashions, Manhattans, or even a solid pour from the tap. Priced reasonably with the Cigar shop available upstairs with a wide variety and range of options, the Lounge is a great escape the first draw of a...
Read moreI'm writing this in hopes that the owner might see this. I love this place. I hadn't been in in over a year and I have to say that I was disappointed. For one, there is no drink menu. I don't know how you would go to a bar like this and not have a list of what's available. The other thing was that there were flies surrounding the bar, fruit flies. It's the dead of winter, there should be no flies anywhere, which means things aren't being cleaned properly. It just seemed to me that the amount of care and attention has slipped. I still had a good drink, the bartenders were attentive, and the atmosphere is really my favorite part about this place. I just wanted give some awareness so I can always go back to this place and have it be just as great as I...

Bad: Drink prices are amongst the highest I've ever seen, no exaggeration (almost $30 for an espresso martini, almost $20 for an old fashioned, $20 for a tequila on the rocks) and prices aren't listed out beforehand $20 "cutter & lighter fee" if you bring your own cigar seems excessive & to persuade people into buying their cigars but their selection is extremely limited
This place should take note from Castro's Backroom in Manchester. It's a cigar store with a bar in the back. Whole humidor selection is available all hours (instead of the tiny vault downstairs at Slow Burn) and affordable drinks. I'm sure the actual cigar store upstairs is great, but this place is...
